What is NOT in the Netflix documentary?

When it comes to racism there is no mention of Prince Philip's offensive behaviour. There is no mention of, or apology for, Prince Harry's racist and offensive behaviour.

When it comes to the poisonous nature of the monarchy, there is no mention of Andrew. Or inheritance tax. Or employment law.

What have I missed?

When it comes to press coverage there is no mention of how Catherine, Sophie, Camilla, Sarah, Diana etc. were treated.

When it comes to not being a working royal, there is no mention of how well this has been handled by the Wessexes, the Phillips, the Tindalls, the Chattos etc. etc. Heaven forbid there's a mention of the Duchess of Kent teaching in a Hull school.

I think Harry is very close to the Yorks, not so much Beatrice but definitely Andrew (his Godfather), Sarah and Eugenie. So I wouldn't expect him to comment on Andrew. I don't suppose he would want to draw attention to his own racist comments either.

StateOfTheUterus · 10/12/2022 11:26

He does talk about dressing up as a nazi - I didn’t expect them to go there so I think you’re being a little unfair. Also we haven’t seen all of it yet - I think it may have got much worse after they were married?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 10/12/2022 11:28

Self awareness.

Yes, it sounds as though I have. Do you remember which episode it's in? Any mention of him using racial slurs?

No, no mention of the racist slurs, which happened after the Nazi costume incident.

There were passing pictures of others being harassed by paps.

Your second paragraph sounds a bit odd, as I don't know what that has anything to do with H&M. They may reference it briefly if needed, but I don't see them going into detail, if even talk about them.

I have never seen H&M talk about or to Andrew. This is news to me. Where did you get this?

Yeah he was so sorry and reflective about that that he went on to make horrendously racist comments towards colleagues of his in the army.

Which wasn't mentioned in the documentary.

it’s in the third episode where he talks about how he went to see the chief rabbi etc

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 10/12/2022 13:00

It's not about Andrew. But it is about Brexit, Diana, Elizabeth I and the slave trade Confused

From their childhood the Wales boys seemed close to the York girls, and Diana and Sarah always seemed to get on despite the press trying to pit themselves against each other.

Well, the gist of their argument appears to be that they didn't want to be associated with the racist institution, that they are the first to want to "step out" and that it's impossible. I was listing all of the royals who seemed to have managed it perfectly well, but that aren't mentioned in the documentary.

Isn’t there another three episodes to be aired yet?

Rockybooboo · 10/12/2022 13:05

I don't think Prince Philip ever apologised for his racist comments.

I think that you need to read up about the allegations of ‘racism’ in the army to understand the context.

minou123 · 10/12/2022 13:14

They dont need to talk about what Sarah Ferguson feels about the British Press, she gave her own opinion in an interview to Oprah in 1996 and said it herself:

"I must explain that the British press at the moment is completely and utterly cruel and abusive and so invasive,"
"It is very cruel and very painful when you are going to try and find the feelings within to be on such a public stage."

username8888 · 10/12/2022 13:14

well, it not meant to be a well rounded discussion, its meant to be the meghan and harry show.

KateBain · 10/12/2022 13:18

Why Harry didn't meet her Dad before the wedding. I've never understood why in the 5 months or so they were engaged, they didn't pop over and meet Pa Markle.

It talks women in general. With pictures of Diana, Catherine and one of Eugenie.

And?

The entire documentary is about how the paps hound the royal family. They did not need to call out each royal family member by name.

I could just imagine if they did call out everyone by name. The narrative that Mn would come up with would be epic.
