The royal family

Most ridiculous Royal Family theory?

antelopevalley · 05/10/2022 22:43

Most things about the Royal Family are just about what they are wearing or their latest engagement. But occasionally you come across batshit theories such as that they are really lizards.
What is the most batshit theory you have come across?

I don’t know how people can be so dismissive of the amount of predators/pedophiles that Charles, Andrew etc have been involved with and had connections to over the years. It’s quite disturbing when you add them all up, and that’s just the proven ones.

I agree. This was raised on another thread but the amount of excuses posters were coming up with for Charles was astounding. I bet they wouldn't be so forgiving if it was Harry!

GrazingSheep · 06/10/2022 07:38

Also about connections with pedo-rings and Jimmy Saville

Charles was very friendly with and took advice from Jimmy Saville. That is true.

Google Charles and Peter Ball.. van der Post. Mountbatten.

To turn that around - I find it quite worrying that so many people in influential positions are later found out to be paedophiles, embezzlers, fraudsters, conners or otherwise very dodgy.

CathyorClaire · 06/10/2022 10:21

The lizard thing is entirely untrue.

They are of course snakes 😜

CathyorClaire · 06/10/2022 10:24

Google Charles and Peter Ball.. van der Post. Mountbatten

Quite.

We also have the late lamented queen having her portrait painted by Rolf Harris.

CathyorClaire · 06/10/2022 10:27

Oh. And It's A Royal Knockout presented by Stuart Hall.

Even if Charles didn't know about Savile's paedophilia I don't know what possessed him to ask him to act as marriage counsellor to him and Diana. Can you imagine? It seemed perfectly obvious to me that he was a very very strange man.

There have been concerns raised before about Charles inability to recognise dodgy people and charlatans.
I don't know if it is true, but I have read he is very open to suggestions that Courtiers are keeping the truth from him and only this person can really advise him. He is a big homoeopathic supporter, But Saville was his biggest mistake.

I can see why batshit theories have arisen out of this. I do not think they are true. I do think Charles is gullible and a poor judge of character. But I assume now he is King he is far more closely protected.

antelopevalley · 06/10/2022 10:29

@Lesserspottedmama I think Andrew is a different matter altogether.

The thread is not about this, but I think the Royal Family do not really take child abuse seriously if it involves teenagers. They are stuck back in the past in a lot of their attitudes.

LemonsOnSaleAgain · 06/10/2022 10:32

Apparently Meghan is a Russian spy working to bring down the RFHmm

antelopevalley · 06/10/2022 10:32

To get the thread back on track - I have a friend who really believes Philip murdered Diana. We have mutually agreed not to talk about it anymore. No amount of pointing out obvious holes in this theory has any impact on her beliefs.

The lizard one came from David Icke but I have read others saying they are really aliens. Only on the internet though so hard to know if people really believe that or just jesting.

I read yesterday someone arguing that Kate was really a transvestite i.e. a man.

The really batshit conspiracy theories fascinate me. Especially when you meet nice normal people who believe them.

That Harry is James Hewitts son. But in reality Diana met him after he was born. Did he use a time machine? What a load of crap...Harry looks like his grandad...

Charles wishing he was a tampon...ohh wait that was true...

An even more convoluted version of this theory is that Prince Phillip is James Hewitt's father, hence the family resemblance!

donquixotedelamancha · 06/10/2022 10:39

Personally I think Charles is worse than Andrew. That's not to minimise Andrew's behaviour- I just find it unsurprising that when you give a group unchecked wealth and power the sleazy bloke exploits women.

In Charles' case I think his relationship ethics are at least as bad as Andrew (if he lived on a council estate we'd consider him an emotionally abusive husband and father) but he's also had numerous corruption scandals.

I respect anyone's right to support the monarcy but I find the mental gymnastics needed to claim that the RF are good at their 'job' almost as bonkers as the lizard people stuff.

antelopevalley · 06/10/2022 10:43

@donquixotedelamancha I do not think most of them are nice or decent. And perhaps that is almost inevitable if you have guaranteed power and wealth from birth.
But much of the public do not recognise what is happening, but do believe extreme conspiracy theories. It is as if normal bad behaviour is not believable, but batshit stuff is. I don't really understand why.

MarshaMelrose · 06/10/2022 10:44

That despite the thorough and extensive investigations by a number of French and British authorities, and the boring and mundane truth that Diana was killed by a drunk driver, people still (want to) believe the RF or MI5 or 6 had a hand in her death.
As a French investigator said, next, people will be wanting the pope to investigate.

antelopevalley · 06/10/2022 10:50

I think people find it hard to accept that rich and famous people can die in mundane accidents like everyone else. I remember those claiming Laura Ashley must have been murdered when she died after falling down the stairs. They based their claims on no more evidence than how could she die like that?

OP posts:
milveycrohn · 06/10/2022 10:53

@antelopevalley
Actually according to letters that were later in the public domain, P. Philip was very supportive to Diana.
People just did not expect a beautiful young woman to die in such a fashion; hence there must be a reason.

caroleanboneparte · 06/10/2022 10:56

Andrew isn't Phillips child.

The pegging prince.

To be fair Rolf Harris was a shock to everyone was he not?

donquixotedelamancha · 06/10/2022 10:58

I think it's exactly a function of that, plus the peculiar way they are brought up. A number of them have spoken about cold and unhappy childhoods.

I feel quite sorry for Charles. That doesn't mean I think he's a good person and certainly doesn't mean he's competent to be head of state.

antelopevalley · 06/10/2022 10:58

Rolf Harris was a total shock to me.

The lizard theory came from a Dr. Who episode (David Tennant) I think.

Isaidnoalready · 06/10/2022 11:06

People talking about paedophiles do you know many on Real life? Because I do and its a horrific amount they are everywhere then there are the ones who want girls who are "of age" (but only just) the only reason people are shocked about famous people is because they are famous but they are people and can be taken in like anyone else

Yes, I agree with you. It's like the rumours about Marilyn Monroe. That the FBI, police forces, state dept and the entire Kennedy plan covered up her murder rather than the fact she was an addict and she simply, probably accidentally, overdosed.
Wealthy, beautiful people can't just die. There must be nefarious forces at work. Otherwise it could happen to any of us!

donquixotedelamancha · 06/10/2022 11:12

There was no Dr Who episode like that and the theory loooong predates him. It was made up by David Icke. He was probably going through some sort of MH crisis at the time but has since made a lot of money pushing that and various other mad ideas. He's very persuasive considering how obviously bonkers his stuff is- sells out stadia with his talks and has millions of online followers.
