Some posters complain there are not enough critical threads about Andrew so….
A new biography by Angela Levin claims that Andrew lobbied The Queen to bypass Charles as King and make him ( Andrew ) Regent if William was too young .
According to the book , he was backed by Diana and Sarah .
Somehow i think this has the ring of truth .

I thought the Queen was still the Duchess of Edinburgh (officially), although she obviously didn't use that title. Could well be wrong?

She would have been a Dowager Duchess as the title had passed onto the son and his wife was the Duchess.

Im not sure I believe that story but I do think Andrew was trying to worm his way back into favour with the Queen before she died, I really think he thinks he can make a come back to public life. He’s delusional. I think that when Harry said he wanted to make sure his grandma was surrounded by the right people it’s my personal belief that he meant Not Andrew! I often wonder if the stories about Andrew and Epstein were a contributing factor to Harry and Meghan leaving. One thing I do think about Charles is he won’t allow Andrew back into public life/role

i doubt it - the stories about Andrew and Epstein had been running for years. The New York photo after Epstein had been in prison and Virginia Giuffre’s accusations in 2014 were long before Harry & Meghan were heading for lunch at Andrew’s the first time Meghan met the Queen.

What happens to the Duke of Edinburgh award? It would be a bit awkward to give the title to Andrew . . .

MidnightAnnie · 24/09/2022 19:54

She wouldn't be trying to sell a book by any chance ?.

It’s merged with the crown so can be given out.

On Edward’s wedding day in 99 it was said that he would be given it in time.

Andrew has York. He won’t be given any other titles.

And most people in York can't stand Andrew!

JADS · 25/09/2022 15:56

I really hope Edward is made Duke of Edinburgh.

While this story about PA is probably rubbish, I agree with whoever stated that he is arrogant enough to think this could work.

I don't get his and Fergie's relationship at all.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 25/09/2022 16:29

I can't understand what Sarah Ferguson still sees in him, he's a creep

Hearthnhome · 25/09/2022 16:43

Do they still have a romantic relationship?

I thought they were just friends?

Whatever, I wouldn't want to be friends with someone like him.

Well no, I don’t know how anyone even speaks to him.

But I read the previous posts as though it was known they are romantically together

Hearthnhome · 25/09/2022 16:53

I would also guess, that as a mother she feels the need to keep in with him, for her daughters. That I would have some sympathy for.

I am not sure anyone would know how to deal with the father of their adults daughters being a creep and their daughters not really being able to cut them off.

The talk about ‘what she sees in him’ suggests it’s more that, which I wouldn’t have had any sympathy for. There’s no way she needs to be involved romantically to protect her children and grandchild.

£££££££

^^ That

Without him, she would not be living in 98 acre estate, 30 roomed Royal Lodge.

DarkDarkNight · 25/09/2022 17:27

As one of the first posters said, Angela Levin is a fully certified crack pot. She is worse than Piers Morgan when it comes to Meghan and Harry. I wouldn’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth.

Andrew knows full well Charles has always favoured a slimmed-down monarchy. This means not only Andrew’s role but his children’s roles being threatened. I suppose he would try anything to stay relevant. Charles is now in charge and his mother is no longer around to enable Andrew’s behaviour. He needs to realise the public have no appetite for him to be performing public duties and just quietly retire.

JADS · 25/09/2022 17:28

I agree, it must be the £££ for her, but what is in it for him? Does she somehow make him look more wholesome? Shudders, I can't work it out. It's just weird.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/09/2022 17:30

Does the monarch have the power to make such a decision?

Exactly that’s all I can think too. She was very short of money at one point as well

It is extremely odd. They don't have to be there for the children. I imagine it's some sort of co-dependency and both having something on the other.

She was very short of money at one point as well

She has said herself she's been near bankruptcy more than once. I imagine that would be the case without us the taxpayer funding her lifestyle, via PA.

About slimming down the royal family ? Yes he would have the power to decide who received public money , but I understand that he would need the agreement of Parliament. Charles has always been in favour of this. I think he and William realise that Andrew is bad news for the family and need to be kept out of the public eye. Sadly I don’t think Andrew sees it that way, he’s a arsehole

CathyorClaire · 25/09/2022 21:20

I agree, it must be the £££ for her, but what is in it for him?

Given there's allegedly a highly inappropriate/explosive photo gleaned opportunistcally from a short lived visit by journos, I'd imagine she knows where plenty of bodies are buried but is prepared to keep her trap shut in return for the run of Royal Lodge and the millstone ski-shack plus invites to the odd royal knees-up.

milti · 25/09/2022 22:38

I’m sure he did - what more is there to discuss ? He’s a horrible man

AutumnCrow · 05/10/2022 21:45

Well there's this I suppose

The prog is on tonight in the USA apparently.

milti · 05/10/2022 22:10

Yes, he is truly awful - a bully as well no doubt and downright weird to boot (teddies on the bed ) - he is a total disgrace

Dirtylittleroses · 05/10/2022 22:26

Actually back in the day when Andrew was still perceived as relatively normal for a royal and Charles was the issue then I could see this to be true.

We are looking at it with todays eyes, knowing what we know now, but we need to take it back and look at it with our eyes as they were in the nineties, when Andrew was seen as a relatively normal family man and Charles a shagging cheating auld dirt bag who did the dirty on his teenage bride.

Remember the phone call the news of the world tapped where he was telling camilla he wanted to be her tampon, the Diana interview, it was baaad, very bad for awhile

So I can see back In the day this might have been true. Charles was public enemy no 1 for a long time. And at that time Andrew wasn’t.

now of course we know what Andrew is, so it’s hard to fathom, but back then, yeah I’d believe it.
