I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

Their private moment days before the wedding may be what they consider the moment they married. They may even have believed that it was

This gets more and more hilarious.

They had a rehearsal. Just like we did before our church wedding.
It was not a wedding though! There were no witnesses and no signing of the register.

If they are so dim they thought that was the actual wedding, a legal ceremony, God help them.

Really hilarious. We are constantly being reminded how intelligent Meghan is, yet she doesn't know the difference between a wedding rehearsal and a legally binding marriage ceremony with witnesses etc? And yes, they do have wedding rehearsals in the States - my brother is married to an American (from California no less) and they had one the day before the ceremony!

I don't care if MM is pink, white, blue, black, brown or yellow, or all of them with spots on.

Ever notice how black and brown people never use the pink/yellow/blue phrase? It's only white people that seem to come out with this contemptuous, condescending guff.

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 15:26

Not really. The media have ways of manipulating the public to view members of certain communities in different ways. It is subtle, sometimes, but none the less constant

Okay so put your money where your mouth is , find and paste some examples in the media. I think you will find it very hard to prove your point.

And stop patronising the public by sayng it's 'subtle'.

The only person to make an issue of her colour is MM herself. No one else cares.

You don’t give the British public much credit. I am sure there are those who are easily manipulated but I would like to this they are a minority.

I feel like the poor girl was never liked and def was bullied by the media and uk. Not everyone obvs. Annoyingly she's played into their hands by actually ending up being a bit of an idiot since leaving but I really think the attitude towards her to start with was disgusting and it had a lot to do with her face not fitting. I would have asked her for a hug too, she really needs it

Grow up.

Hit too close to home, did it?

Yes, but that's not what she said is it?

She didn't say 'we had a ceremony a few days before and that felt like the wedding for us because it was away from everyone else etc'.

She said 'we actually got married 3 days before, no one knows that. We called the AofC and told him we wanted something just for us'.

Which totally made it sound like the Archbishop had agreed to marry them 3 days before! And it was unfair to bring him into it and imply that he had misled people.

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 15:27

It's a type of idiom that is common in English. People often refer to colours with spots on.

Nothing to do with race.

So nothing to do with the false statements she keeps making?

Exactly. I wonder about the people who seem to have so much time to ponder on all of these things. It should make no difference to their lives whatsoever what Harry and Meghan choose to do.

The Royal Family is the last bastion of whiteness for these people, anything threatening that sends them into a tailspin.

Yes, it's definitely something that people with racist tendencies always come out with!

I don't deny that Meghan has suffered racism since being with Harry, I imagine some of the RF are very racist and there was stuff in the press as well. But I don't think that's the reason the public turned on her in the way that it did.

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 15:30

honestly you meghan haters are just bigots.

Hate is too strong a word. It implies 'cares'.

We aren't bigots either. We simply don't like someone who trashes the late Queen and tells lies about things to make a name for themselves and money.

It's only common amongst white people. And as I said, it's as bad as 'I'm not racist but...' and 'My best friend is black...'

Is there a reason why I should? I live in this Country as a Black person. I have seen how the media has portrayed poc.

TonTonMacoute · 12/09/2022 15:30

I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.

Really? It is called facing up to the consequences of your actions

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 15:31

Oh stop being so blinkin' daft!

Saying a colour with spots on it is a well known English turn of phrase, not associated with skin colour (until now on MN.)

You really are hilarious!

Scautish · 12/09/2022 15:31

So much hate from some people, they must have desperately empty lives to have all that bile inside them.

but I guess that’s what racism does to a person. It’s just extreme insecurity.

TrashyPanda · 12/09/2022 15:31

Indifferent59 · 12/09/2022 13:44

She is a dignified, beautiful lady. It all boils down to being jealous, that's why these people are derogatory. You will never hear a nice word about her, due to these type of public individuals.

She is the polar opposite of dignified.

I think lots of the crowd weren't expecting them to be there hence the frosty reception. If it was publicised before it would have been people who liked them going.

What so you are saying that the Archbishop of Cantebury put his reputation and professionalism on the line for Meghan and Harry by marrying them in secret 3 days before the wedding? Presumably if that's the case he didn't think that Meghan would then blab to the world that he had done that?

Can you please clarify what you mean by 'bigot' in your post, and quote what I have said that is bigoted?
