I've seen a clip on Instagram where a group of women completely blanked MM when she spoke to them. It was awful to watch.
I feel so sorry for her, she didn't deserve that at all.
I saw another clip where someone had asked her for a hug, she obliged and when they hugged she really held the member of public and closed her eyes, it looked as if she really needed that hug .
No wonder she ran away from the UK

While it’s a small incident (flowers) , it shows that Meghan refuses to be told what do so

What happens when it isn’t a small incident, what happens when she pushes past presidents in Westminster Abbey, or takes something she shouldn’t from someone. These little incidents make headlines, even when the queen did it (I remember a brooch with Trump ? - covid brain)

I wish them well in America and I do admire her bravery going walk about.

The person didn’t have to shake her hand but should have been discreet and not trying to insult Meghan

I'll never be able to look at a post of yours again without thinking of pigeons and chessboards Grin

But others have. Such uncharitable thinking over such an innocuous event. And you are a contributor to the horrible tone.

I don't agree that I am. I know facts aren't popular when it comes to talking about Meghan and Harry though.

What facts? That she wanted to hold some flowers? What an evil woman, let's ostracise her.

Again, not even close to anything I have said...

She just seems so unhappy, Omid. I think, personally, if you stepped away and both you and Harry stopped winding her up, her life would be a lot happier. She's not just a vehicle for your enrichment. She's a person. So stop it.

Pathetic

It's laughable when posters call others, Omid, Doria, Sunshine Sachs whatever

It's very infantile

But that's literally what did did. Held some flowers she was given.

Shame on you all.

There was another thread about 'Have you ever met Harry?' and all the anecdotes were Harry having a ball with his friends; Harry going to yet another pub; Harry smoking aged 14; Harry having loving uncles around him and body guards to look after. Harry going to another posh horsey event. He is a spoilt, entitled brat, whose had years of endless fun and adulation, compared with most young men. He should stop complaining about his lot. Some young men have it really hard. Nobody would read his memoirs, if he wasn't royal, so it's all on the back of that that he gets these amazing book deals and Netflix deals.

I'm only interested in the royals if they're working royals, thanking volunteers, representing the state; thanking more volunteers.

What about Harry losing his mum as a child??!! Poor little chap.

Fififelix · 12/09/2022 19:54

The public there weren't expecting her if it was publicised she was going before there would be a different reception. If you like Meghan or not you have to agree she's a very polarising person.

LondonWolf · 12/09/2022 19:54

Interesting that Oprah has finally spoken out about the interview, so soon after the queens death. I'm not sure what to think of this timing tbh.

BellaCiao1 · 12/09/2022 19:56

@BellePeppa

I just watched it, there was a 14 minute dissection of the 3 second incident. I'm sorry but it is completely mental that this is used as a stick to beat Meghan with. How this has been manipulated to tarnish Meghan is actually scary.

phishy · 12/09/2022 19:56

But it is. This behaviour is shameful. It makes a mockery of the much vaunted British value of tolerance.

Peaceandcalm · 12/09/2022 20:02

BlueRidge · 12/09/2022 19:39

@Peaceandcalm :"She garners considerable global interest (more than any other member of the royal family)"

Erm, what? More global interest than is currently (and historically) being shown by the entire planet towards Queen Elizabeth II? Grin

Yes, why don’t you look at the study by Lucky Creek? They used Google trends data from last year to reveal that Meghan is the most talked about royal family member – beating both Kate and the Queen. Of course, the death of the Monarch is likely to overturn this trend for a short period, but in time it will revert back.
As I said, she continues to win (cue laughing emoji).

Diverseopinions · 12/09/2022 20:03

About now

Many people have experienced sad life events which have broken them. Others have had to cope with surviving - in certain parts of the globe: you know, Maslow's hierarchy of needs, and have had less opportunity to process loss.

Harry has had support, freedom and adulation. All those anecdotes were about Harry having fun, having a laugh, having a ball, having more fun, being protected, being cool, being happy, being feted, being looked after, being blessed with charm and good looks. Some kids have suffered horrendous abuse and have relatively nothing.

THIS IS WHY THE ROYAL FAMILY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO COMPLAIN because they are luck, luck lucky as well as happ, happ, happy. They need to recognise this and the fortunate life they lead, relatively and..

He should stop fucking complaining about his own lot in life, and anonymously help others by giving something back for all the money, protection and privilege that has been lavished on him with the utmost care.

Serenster · 12/09/2022 20:07

I corrected it to Meghan up thread. As you will have seen.

I hadn’t actually, but how on earth is saying someone looks mildly annoyed “berating” someone? Ridiculous hyperbole there.

Aspiringmatriarch · 12/09/2022 20:08

These threads move too fast for me but I saw a clip of the women being rude to Meghan and felt it looked really malicious. She was so pleased with herself for doing it, too.
I thought Meghan handled the walk about beautifully and I don't see anything wrong with how she behaved with the flowers or anything else. I can't imagine how daunting it must have been for her.

Lampzade · 12/09/2022 20:13

doubleshotcappuccino · 12/09/2022 13:04

Yep feel sorry for Meghan and it's clear the whole of the world's eyes will be watching carefully how she is treated ..doesn't paint us in a favourable light if we can't behave nicely whilst we mourn our Queen and when she's the only minority member of the RF. All these " can't stand her comments" .. what's the real reason she provokes such a strong response I wonder ?!

Exactly

She did just show up though with very short notice the crowd were there to see the RF. Harry and Meghan quit the royal family.

She didn't just roll up and tag along!

She was invited, it was carefully put together.

Lampzade · 12/09/2022 20:18

The woman that was rude just looked a fool in my opinion.
in fact, instead of undermining Meghan , she made Meghan look classy and poised which was obviously not this woman’s intention.
The Queen met a few despots in her time, but was always the epitome of grace and class
That woman should have learned a few lessons from the Queen.

Gymnopedie · 12/09/2022 20:19

Given all of that, I really don’t see why she would care about the disapproving sentiment of a small, insignificant group of people unable to discern fact from fiction.

To be fair, there is evidence that Meghan herself is part of that small group.
