He looks uneasy. Probably because he doesn’t do enough public events to be used to the scrutiny yet. People queuing up to pronounce mysteriously that you “look like a wet blanket” isn’t something most of us have to put with.
He’s in a weird position. He doesn’t have a public role. He doesn’t take public money. In fact he is the wealthy SIL of the Yorks who has been able to house and keep their DD in grand style (Andrew is still having to lobby for grace and favour lodgings for his other DD). However, his wife has a title and an occasional public role, so he has to allow himself to be rolled out for the cameras from time to time.
Let’s not frighten off the other multi millionaires who might snap up British royals and take them off the public payroll one by one.
