Here is previous thread.

I've started a new thread because today and tomorrow is crucial as far as the pending civil case.

And I also had a few comments I wanted to say to posters at the end of the last thread, but it ran out.

If Wikipedia is correct, then that’s quite worrying because she clearly has influence over certain bills secretly resulting in the country being a smokescreen of democracy.

prh47bridge · 04/01/2022 14:45
@prh47bridge
“On your last paragraph, note that the information published in the Guardian about Queen's Consent, some of which has been picked up by other publications, is littered with errors. For what it is worth, Queen's Consent, when required (which it isn't for a lot of legislation), comes before the third reading of a proposed bill, by which time we have all been able to take a look at it and, indeed, parliament has already voted on it a few times. However, that is getting off topic for this thread.”

Interesting - does this mean she really has no say in proposed bills? That she can’t adapt any wording to suit her narrative?
I wouldn't go so far as to say she has no say in proposed bills, but she certainly has no say in many proposed bills.

Queen's Consent is required for some bills - specifically any that affect the royal prerogative, hereditary revenues, the Duchy of Lancaster, the Duchy of Cornwall and the personal property or personal interests of the Crown. Prince's Consent (i.e. the consent of Prince Charles) is also required in some circumstances for bills affecting the Duchy of Cornwall. There are some exceptions to this, so some bills that would appear to require consent under these headings do not, in fact, need consent. There are, therefore, a lot of bills for which Queen's Consent is not required at all.

My main beef with the Guardian, though, is their allegations as to how Queen's Consent has been used. Many of these are simply wrong. For example, the Guardian claimed that Queen's Consent was used to alter the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 to give exemptions to specific properties in the Isles of Scilly and Dartmoor. No such modification was made. Dartmoor isn't mentioned in the Act at all. The Isles of Scilly are mentioned but only to make Part 1 of the act applicable there, i.e. to give tenants in the Isles of Scilly the same rights as tenants in England (with, of course, the same exemption for Crown land).

However, this is now completely off topic for this thread.

Sadly I don't think it would necessarily. We see time and time again that only a certain type of missing teenager makes the news. Hundreds of children go missing but if they're not deemed nice and middle class then the assumption is they have run away of their own volition and are a lost cause.

Malariahilaria · 04/01/2022 14:49

Apologies I keep trying to quote people but it won't work. That comment was in relation to the triplets saying surely it would have been big news if they had gone missing.

Roussette · 04/01/2022 15:01

From what I've read the triplets came from a very poor family. But that is like most if not all, of the other victims. Either poor families, living on trailer parks, parents were addicts.... both GM and JE knew exactly what they were doing.

There's some sad and honest stories out there from victims about how it came to them being caught up in this. I am just so glad that GM was found guilty, her name comes up all the time with the stories I've read.

We know that the RF has changed laws to benefit themselves and that this only came to light through leaks. They may not have officially changed laws, but they have strongly influenced the amending of draft legislation.
Informal power is far less accountable in general.

Justmebeingme245 · 04/01/2022 15:37

@prh47bridge thank you for your response, I agree it is off-topic and I apologise for that. I find these things very interesting. I really appreciate your input.

SpankyPankhurst · 04/01/2022 15:39

Who would raise the alarm for them? Certainly not the so-called parents who had sold them into slavery.

I would like to see Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, everyone who took part in abusing those girls and young girls exposed and criminally prosecuted. Fuck civil damages, they need to be jailed.

Gilmorehill · 04/01/2022 15:39

I do like the idea of Andrew being banished to a foreign country. He’s been an embarrassment for years. He should settle with VR to avoid an embarrassing trial for his family and then bugger off.

SerendipityJane · 04/01/2022 15:42

Informal power is far less accountable in general.

I watched a fascinating Time Team documentary where they excavated a Spitfire that had crashed in France* during the war.

From the serial number on on of the instruments they were able to confirm exactly it's designation, the factory (and shift) that built it, and when it was fitted to the plane - about which they had a factory to burial record of.

Worth remembering that when you are next expected to believe what gets "lost", "forgotten" or "wasn't written down" like the serf you are.

*The pilots body was recovered immediately and quickly buried to prevent the Nazis getting their hands on it. The villagers doing this risked their own (and families lives) to do this.

Since we're mentioning all the military honours Prince Andrew holds. And yes, I am aware that his service in the Falklands has never been doubted.

SpaceshiptoMars · 04/01/2022 15:43

@SpankyPankhurst

I don't think I've seen anybody accusing Bill Clinton of anything regarding Epstein - apart from being acquainted. Epstein was very good at using significant people to glamourize his whole operation. So - was Clinton using his offerings, or was Epstein using Clinton's 'glamour'?

He'd have to find one stable enough to not send him straight to the US. Which suggests Russia. I believe they know what to do with errant royals.

Governor of the Falkland Isles, surely?

SpankyPankhurst · 04/01/2022 15:45

It's clearly been hushed up now, but about a decade ago there was a lot Clinton's trips of the Lolita Jet on the American politic blogs maybe a decade ago

There's also a photo of him getting a massage off a girl who looks 14-18. It's not hard to find.

SpankyPankhurst · 04/01/2022 15:47

(It's not the photo of him getting the neck massage off the 22year old. He is topless and the girl is younger.)

CaveMum · 04/01/2022 15:53

Sadly large numbers of children/teenagers go missing every year with seemingly little action from the authorities. Most are from poor and/or minority backgrounds and written off as “runaways”.

To hark, once again, back to the RCP podcast they did a recent series on US serial killer John Gacy who abused, tortured and murdered T least 30 teenage boys/young men in the 1970s but most disappearances were ignored until the final victim who was from a “respectable” family and whose mother kicked up a fuss about her missing son.

In addition, look at the Peter Sutcliffe murders - the victims were categorised as “only” prostitutes until, as the police at the time referred to it, he started attacking “innocent” women.

To look at modern day America, you only have to consider the lack of action around missing indigenous people. This report on the lack of coverage on missing indigenous people from Wyoming alone makes for horrifying reading: wysac.uwyo.edu/wysac/projects/mmip-report/

The Metropolitan Police reviewed the evidence against PA and announced in October that they will not be taking any action against him. So, however much you may want to see it, there is no chance of a criminal prosecution or jail.

Neither PA nor anyone else can be extradited for civil matters.
Roussette · 04/01/2022 16:00

CaveMum I listened to that podcast, it was horrific. They were just nobodies, and not worth investigating which is so sad. I liked the way the presenters of the podcast made a point of focussing on the victims and talking about them, their characters, their lives when they could find out anything on them. There were victims who they could find out little but on some they actually spoke to old schoolfriends etc. They wanted to remember their lives because no one else had bothered with them. So so sad.

(I hope we are talking about the same podcast, if not, apologies, but it's the same sort of thing...)

Ah, yes. The Met. I'm not really too convinced by their integrity right now.

In fact, if I were a villain I might consider suing them if they found me innocent, knowing that it's pretty much a headline statement to the opposite.

One thing we've learned these past few months and years is the meaning of "corruption". Looks like we need to learn to live with it too.

Moneypennysfreedomfund · 04/01/2022 16:05

I wonder if one of Andrew’s daughters will ‘remember’ being in Pizza Express but no security detail or staff can back that up.

The Met’s refusal to look at anything re establishment is incredibly suspect from illegal lockdown parties to Andrew, the whole thing stinks to high heaven and I firmly believe there are a fair few more rich, privileged and powerful who are implicated and we know nothing about them.

CaveMum · 04/01/2022 16:08

Rousette it probably is the same podcast, sadly there are not many that are victim-centred, most other like to focus on the perpetrator and the salacious details.

I highly recommend going back through their archives, they started out back in 2016 and some of the cases they have covered are mind blowing. They’ve done the big high profile cases like OJ Simpson (I thought he was probably guilty before I listened, I’m now utterly convinced!) but they also look at U.K. interest cases like Madeleine McCann (very sensitively done but forensic in analysis), Meredith Kercher’s murder, etc.

I’ve said elsewhere when discussing her amazing work on DV and Stalking but I want to be Laura Richards when I grow up!

Is this the same Met that wears Prince Andrews mothers insignia on their uniform by any chance ? Or another "Met".

AuntMasha · 04/01/2022 16:20

Indeed SerendipityJane, this photograph says it all really…

Roussette · 04/01/2022 16:29

CaveMum Absolutely. I like it when they talk about the perp and won't say his name, they use a moniker or a letter of the alphabet. Let's not name these vile people. Let's instead name the victims and talk about their lives.

Yes! I've looked at some of their work. I listened to Meredith's case. I swerved OJ having seen both Netflix series, and somehow I missed Epstein first time round. But I do subscribe and unsubscribe to podcasts fairly regularly to keep it all tidy, and sometimes I miss stuff.

Yes to Laura Richards!
