This according to guess who. The DM of course. To avoid getting papers served says the article. Maybe he's just gone for a nice break. Accompanied by Fergie.

@Roussette

Agree Vivienne. So we have the Press Secretary of Prince Andrew briefing the media on this nonsense. I presume they think that all the dog lovers of the UK will now think .... awww Andrew is just lovely, look what he did, nastly old USA for doing this lawsuit
Would have been nice if that doggy had some court papers in it's mouth Smile
Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/09/2021 12:41

But he saves the lives of puppies

I thought that was hysterical, though I'm surprised it wasn't a child snatched from the path of a speeding lorry

Or maybe that's next week ... ? Grin

SpindleWorld · 22/09/2021 12:42

@Viviennemary

The dog story is just ridiculous. Makes you wonder if it's some sort of a sarcastic joke.
I wouldn't be at all surprised.
Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/09/2021 12:52

Don't give them ideas - it could be a version of "the dog ate my court papers homework" Grin

Either way he will be in deep water if what he presents to the court is untrue

Why? Or rather if he is, what are they going to do about it?
He's got no reputation left to lose, he's never going to see the inside of a courtroom, and I'd say the only "offence" he cares about is that which he himself feels

StormzyinaTCup · 22/09/2021 12:52

The dog story is absolutely barking (pun intended)!!

Palace PR have obviously gone (probably out of desperation) with the angle that the U.K. is supposedly a nation of dog lovers so let’s throw out a story where a dog is just moments from death but Andrew swoops in, rescues the dog and we will all now feel differently about him and we can move on from discussing the VG case.

StormzyinaTCup · 22/09/2021 12:57

Rousette just seen your post at the top of the page (I didn’t refresh before posting) and I see you got there before me with the dog loving angle!! 🐶🐶

StartupRepair · 22/09/2021 12:59

I heard this weird interview with Sarah where she describes herself as having an unusual amount of honour and integrity.

OverByYer · 22/09/2021 13:02

In fairness to the DM a they have kept up their campaign against PA.
I think they are just placating BP by running the nonsense dog story. It does highlight though how the press and BP work.
It is fascinating to watch it all unfold.
I do have some sympathy for B and E though, it’s not their fault that they have such horrors for parents.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/09/2021 13:03

Here's another idea: maybe there'll be some invented "scare" around the new baby, and Andrew - with his unique wisdom - will be the one to save the day?

After all it worked for Edward when Sophie suffered her ectopic pregnancy, and for Andrew himself when he supposedly led the effort to save artworks during the Windsor fire

Canonisation, anyone ...?

Roussette · 22/09/2021 13:03

Storm No probs!

This nation of dog lovers have completely revised their opinion of PA now!

Startup Both PA and SF do that. In his carcrash interview he talked about being 'too honourable' and showing too much leadership.

Deluded

SpindleWorld · 22/09/2021 13:41

Andrew even managed to turn the genuinely awful Windsor Castle fire into a massive PR fuck-up. Spouted some drivel about the Queen feeling like every woman who'd just seen her home burn down? When she obviously had many other palaces and castles and houses available ...

He's just not very sharp.

Washeduponthebeach · 22/09/2021 13:47

Sadly the RF generally seem to treat animals better than they do some people.

Roussette · 22/09/2021 13:48

He is tone deaf and deluded.

Washeduponthebeach · 22/09/2021 13:50

Did anyone see the piece on the news the other day with a clip from the documentary about Philip which is being shown tonight? It just made me cringe. William Zara and Philip laughing about how Philip loved to squirt tubes of mustard at the ceiling for fun. What a jape!! Not if you are the minion who has to clean it off though. Is that really what they think people want to hear about in the midst of a pandemic and general financial crash? It’s just is puerile . I could tell Huw Edwards took a dim view too.

Washeduponthebeach · 22/09/2021 13:51

They are all tone deaf and deluded.

Roussette · 22/09/2021 14:04

@Washeduponthebeach

I've seen a couple of clips and honestly can't bear to watch it
PP lived to 99, a privileged life, yes he was huge support to Q, but he was no Saint.

We had all this for so long after he died, do we really need another programme on him? So he's good at barbecuing. Confused
I can only presume it's a diversionary tactic

SpindleWorld · 22/09/2021 14:40

If these are indeed diversionary tactics, either QE2 is protecting him, or the aides at BP are misguidedly attempting to protect her. Probably a bit of both.

And it's not working. Not when the lights are going to be going out for many of her 'loyal subjects' this winter, Ghislaine is due to sing like a canary, and young people have had enough of being sh*t on from on high.

This royal family need to start being 'in touch' pdq.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 22/09/2021 15:40

It is like prince Phillip had a personality transplant since he died - I remember quite a lot of rude comments made to people that anyone else would have been sacked for had they made those comments at work!
Also not finding the mustard story funny. Perhaps it's one of those where you had to be there, but I just found myself wondering who cleared up the mess. I'm guessing it wasn't prince Philip.

CathyorClaire · 22/09/2021 16:08

Lord, that dog story is ridiculous.

I'm amazed they didn't have Andrew dressed up in superhero cape and tights.

Oh, wait

Prince Andrew has bolted to Balmoral
CathyorClaire · 22/09/2021 16:10

Only the ones they don't want to shoot or cull...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/09/2021 17:04

Oh god, did you have to bring that up again, CathyorClaire?? Shock Grin

How very true. I had forgotten about that.
CathyorClaire · 22/09/2021 20:10

'Fraid so. That's one royal debacle that never gets old Grin

I agree re the mustard story. Why on earth does that have to make the BBC news, baffles me

Agree with you @Roussette this is probably palace tactics. But they got the timing all wrong. Not sure why we have to reminisce on the BBC about Prince Philip now. It must be to balance something or fill a void
