This according to guess who. The DM of course. To avoid getting papers served says the article. Maybe he's just gone for a nice break. Accompanied by Fergie.

Why this entire Epstein business could not be reported without names and photographs I do not know. If I had been 'trafficked' for sex I would not want my name and picture made public

Why? A lot of the victims want their names heard. VG certainly does. She campaigns for sex trafficked victims.
Why should this be brushed under the carpet like it never happened. You've said before you wouldn't want your name and picture made public, they don't feel like that because they stood outside of court and said 'I have found my voice now, I will not be silenced'.
Then they were robbed of justice by Epstein's apparent suicide. The press that you hate can sometimes give a voice to those not heard.

An article There is no getting away from the fact that papers have now been officially served. Extract from article below...

The certificate of service has now been delivered via email and FedEx, according to court records.

The email was sent on 17 September while the physical papers were delivered on Monday, the legal document claims.

It was left with the front desk of Brettler’s office in Los Angeles, according to the FedEx receipt.

The email sent to Brettler stated: “Pursuant to Judge Kaplan’s September 16, 2021, order granting Plaintiff’s motion for alternate service (attached), I am serving by email the Summons and Complaint in the above-captioned matter on you in your capacity as counsel for the Defendant, Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.”

The filing says papers were also sent “to the designated central authority of the United Kingdom on the court’s behalf”

All we know of the grandfather is what the media write, he hasn't been found guilty of anything so far apart from an error of judgement regarding a 'friend'.

We know that at the very least he has personal financial connections to Epstein and other dubious people. That is between him and the police if he is just John Smith. It is our business if he expects to be addressed as ‘your highness’ and take part in state occasions. The same applies to his belief that he should be involved in various charities to support disadvantaged teenagers, while being completely uninterested in what was going on under his nose.

Andrew will never come back from this. He's finished as a public figure.

This is what I would like to know, why he is still RH, when others are stripped for less. Wasn't the whole point of RH to show you represent the queen.

I wonder if other patronages would have been stripped, I say this because we received a letter from head of one of his patronages saying they can no longer have his association as soon as the interview hit. I suspect that the palace was pressured into removing him after a maybe overwhelming number of patronages dropped him.

Would not trust 'respected' royal reporter, Russell Myers as far as I can throw him. I do not believe that Andrew did not want to stonewall and ignore.

Viviennemary · 21/09/2021 09:56

I think that now this evasion strategy is looking highly suspicious Andrew is trying to blame his lawyers for bad advice. Saying he wanted to be upfront. He's digging himself into deeper hole.

I think he and his staff must also be worried about what will be revealed when Ghislaine Maxwell's case comes to court, I think some time in November. Will she strike any deals?

Roussette · 21/09/2021 11:06

VivienneM There's even talk of him sacking the lawyers, no idea how true that is.

Hortibunda Yes, oh yes. If he is actually going to do anything like strike a deal with VG, he will certainly be doing this before the Maxwell case comes to court in November.

I have no idea what this means but the Judge in her case orders the FBI to reveal names of her co-conspirators.
For anyone legal, here is the court document...

But he saves the lives of puppies… the palace are struggling to find positive news about Andy I think

Roussette · 22/09/2021 08:20

@OverByYer

Oh my god, what a load of complete and utter bollocks! This is hilarious, how desperate the palace must be to brief the DFail on this Shock

OliviaBean · 22/09/2021 08:54

Mommy where's daddy, I thought he would be here to see his grandchild. Oh he's hiding at granny's dear, avoiding the justice system because you know he is so misunderstood, his friend Jeremy was such a nice person really. FFS, what a joke.

AnnunciataZ · 22/09/2021 09:00

"Beleaguered Duke" FFS. Like he's beleaguered through no fault of his own! Where were the Mail's headlines about "beleaguered Meghan" all the times they were attacking her? It's beyond farce.

Roussette · 22/09/2021 09:16

Beleaguered my arse... pathetic.

He now has a sweaty 21 day race to save himself.

Apparently Beatrice and Eugenie are devestated by the lawsuit. I bet they are.

And he can't even leave Balmoral to see his new granddaughter.

Hortibunda · 22/09/2021 09:40

Roussette now Andrew has been served, it will be very interesting when or if PA provides any information to the US Court, because any evidence he gives, either spoken or written, must be true or it will be an offence. I am not 100% sure of the conditions in a US civil case but I know that usually to perjure oneself is considered a criminal not a civil offence. I suspect PA's lawyers are frantic for him to submit a written statement and not appear in person. But either way he will be in deep water if what he presents to the court is untrue. And of course the press will be waiting to see if anything in his statement contradicts his TV interview, which is the main reason why the interview was such a terrible idea, the other being that he is not bright enough to lie convincingly. I think it's apparent that anyone who briefed him about the TV interview didn't say "be very careful with your answers because you may be called upon to back them up in court" or if they did he ignored them totally. Given the current climate in the states following the MeToo movement and Harvey Weinstein, I think Virginia Giuffre's lawyers are keen to spread the word that you can't hide behind wealth and power any longer and are subject to the law the same as anyone else and PA is a perfect example of that.

AnnunciataZ · 22/09/2021 11:27

I think it's apparent that anyone who briefed him about the TV interview didn't say "be very careful with your answers because you may be called upon to back them up in court" or if they did he ignored them totally.

If he was briefed then I imagine said briefer put their head in their hands the moment he mentioned Pizza Express, and then banged their head against the wall when he mentioned that he doesn't sweat. The arrogance of the man is just (or maybe not so) astounding.

Roussette · 22/09/2021 11:39

@Hortibunda

I honestly think he will have been told to be careful what he says.... after all, one of his chief advisers resigned over this. I think he was warned but as normal in his life, he does what he wants to do and ignores the advice.
There is no doubt in my mind he will have also been told not to stay four days with Epstein 'to break up with him'. The Consulate had a place for him too stay but noooo... he went ahead, attended a dinner party in his (PA) honour, stayed four days, all after JE's conviction

@AnnunciataZ
I think there will be many people out there... people he has belittled, shouted at, ignored or whatever who will be ecstatic that he is getting his comeuppance.
Quite right too

SpindleWorld · 22/09/2021 11:39

Apparently Beatrice and Eugenie are devastated by the lawsuit. I bet they are.

Embarrassed more like. They can't really think he's squeaky clean. Can they?

What a bewildering family the Yorks are. All the gushing online from B, E and S about each other and their adorable partners and 'the Duke', and Andrew running and hiding from process servers at his mummy's regal gaff(s) while his daughter gives birth. Fuck's sake.

Roussette · 22/09/2021 11:42

@SpindleWorld

I watch this family in fascinating horror. You could not make it up. I honestly think S, B & E probably think he's innocent and unlucky.

Then we have Sarah spouting off at what an honourable man he is only a month ago when she was trying to flog her Mills & Boon book, whilst dressed like a character from centuries ago. And she's called him a giant of a man. I mean... come on... is she that gaff prone? They must all be totally and utterly deluded.

Washeduponthebeach · 22/09/2021 12:01

He’s a meal ticket to her as someone up thread said. It’s in her interests to keep the fantasy up in her head. It’s really shocking that she can defend him. However he’s put up with appalling behaviour from her in the past, so perhaps she feels she owes him one. I feel so sorry for B and E who seem like absolutely lovely women.

Roussette · 22/09/2021 12:05

I imagine SF in her own right is totally broke.
She has to be like this, I totally agree. Without him she'd be flogging wedgewood and writing books like 'Dieting with the Duchess' (a true title)
This way she can live in luxury whilst bigging him up.

DuncinToffee · 22/09/2021 12:13

Only just spotted this thread, it has a bit more up to date information than the one in chat. Thanks for the links.

Viviennemary · 22/09/2021 12:13

The dog story is just ridiculous. Makes you wonder if it's some sort of a sarcastic joke.

OP posts:
Roussette · 22/09/2021 12:18

Agree Vivienne. So we have the Press Secretary of Prince Andrew briefing the media on this nonsense.
I presume they think that all the dog lovers of the UK will now think .... awww Andrew is just lovely, look what he did, nastly old USA for doing this lawsuit
