This according to guess who. The DM of course. To avoid getting papers served says the article. Maybe he's just gone for a nice break. Accompanied by Fergie.

Why is it WONDERFUL news though? Bit OTT. It's good they're OK and I don't wish her any harm obviously, but I don't know her and neither do you (do you?)

The thread is supposed to be about the baby's dodgy grandfather.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/09/2021 13:17

Lovely news for the family Smile

Alwayscheerful · 20/09/2021 13:24

It's a girl

Prince Andrew has bolted to Balmoral
MummyJ12 · 20/09/2021 13:29

The birth of a healthy baby is always wonderful news.

derxa · 20/09/2021 13:36

Best wishes to them

Seventhascent · 20/09/2021 13:44

Best wishes to all parents of babies born over the weekend Smile

Roussette · 20/09/2021 13:58

Nice when sisters, especially close ones, can have babies close in age

Yes and I imagine they've had to lean on each other during all of their parents' shenanigans.

Well said. Nice news for her and her family but it shouldn't detract from the Andrew issue.
MummyJ12 · 20/09/2021 15:02

Totally agree, it shouldn’t detract. But as far as we know Beatrice hasn’t done anything wrong has she? It’s not her fault that her dad has behaved in the way he has and continues to do. We were wondering yesterday if she was ok. She is and that’s great, even better that apparently her baby is also doing well. It will be interesting to see if PA returns to London now.

Roussette · 20/09/2021 15:10

Not going to criticise a new Mum but she did engineer the carcrash interview. Anyway, a new baby is lovely for them

I think he had already returned to London before the birth

WinnieTheW0rm · 20/09/2021 15:16

I think saying she 'engineered' it is overstating her level of support. And there's no suggestion that she scripted what he said or is in any way responsible for the content. Or his conduct over the years which led to the whole sorry mess

Roussette · 20/09/2021 15:22

She encouraged him to do it and helped him with it, and attended a meeting with Emily Maitlis before it.
OK not engineered then
Was involved

However what's done is done and water under the bridge, she has a little baby girl to concentrate on

Viviennemary · 20/09/2021 18:10

Andrew is a 60 year old man or maybe 61 now. So what if Beatrice encouraged him. She misjudged the whole thing and didn't realise how badly it would go. In no way can she be blamed IMHO. It was his decision.

I agree with that, I bet there's some regrets though

Viviennemary · 20/09/2021 18:35

I agree Roussette. I think she will regret encouraging him to do the interview. But I'm not sure if its made any difference in the long run. It probably forced the Queen to act quicker in the decision to withdraw him from royal duties.

He was hoist by his own petard as the saying goes. If he’s been honest it would have all gone much better for him. Instead he’s shown himself to be a lying sleazebag.
Serenster · 20/09/2021 18:37

I genuinely wonder if she knew he was going to say her birthday dinner was his alibi when she suggested the interview (For some reason I imagine that came as a surprise to her!).

CathyorClaire · 20/09/2021 20:09

I don't think he needed much encouragement at all to do the interview.

He's always resented playing second fiddle (just like another steamingly furious spare more recently) and he thought the fawning peasants would swallow any old claptrap because they always had.

Viviennemary · 21/09/2021 00:15

Apparently he hasnt gone back to London after all and is still staying at Balmoral. Thats according to. You guessed. the DM.

How do they know? Do they have long lenses trained on Balmoral 24/7? So creepy.

Plumtree391 · 21/09/2021 02:24

I hate the press, they do no good except appeal to people who enjoy scandal mongering.

Why this entire Epstein business could not be reported without names and photographs I do not know. If I had been 'trafficked' for sex I would not want my name and picture made public.

I'm delighted that Princess Beatrice has had a baby girl and mother and baby are well.

All we know of the grandfather is what the media write, he hasn't been found guilty of anything so far apart from an error of judgement regarding a 'friend'.

mathanxiety · 21/09/2021 04:33

Why not, @Plumtree391?

It wasn't her fault any more than being mugged is your fault.

Keeping the names of sex trafficking (rape) victims hidden carries with it a strong whiff of an implication that a woman should be ashamed of being raped, that she is soiled goods and needs to keep her 'shame' to herself.

mathanxiety · 21/09/2021 04:35

If the media were all making it up I expect Buckingham Palace would be very quick to bring the offenders to court.
