Harry in the UK

Well Harry is looking quite good. Suntanned and healthy. The glow of new parent perhaps. Just seen his video on Diana awards and he looked so happy when visiting Wellchild too.

I'm sure his charities were happy to keep in touch with him.

i saw it on the news. thought they all looked very friendly. well as friendly as William ever looks.
was surprised that Burrell wasn't there. he is all over the place giving his opinion on them, he was her rock don't you know.

SueSaid · 02/07/2021 09:48

It was lovely to see him so relaxed, not with the pensive surly expression we've got used to. Obviously happy to be back!

RickiTarr · 02/07/2021 10:02

@smilesy

I dunno. It’s such a shame. It’s almost like Harry has forgotten that he has fallen out with his family now he is back amongst them.
Yes! That describes it quite well.

Odd that he has apparently adopted the catchphrase “living authentically” but is the one conspicuously pretending that nothing happened.

Roussette · 02/07/2021 10:43

I thought Harry looked as happy as anything.

Ricki Just interested in how you know he is pretending nothing happened?
How do we know they haven't had crisis talks or friendly chats or anything in between.

We don't know do we?!

RickiTarr · 02/07/2021 10:44

Figure of speech @Roussette

He appeared to be the one acting as though the feud had never been. William less so, I thought.

Roussette · 02/07/2021 10:46

Ahhhh OK. Didn't really pick that up. William looked more formal perhaps. But given his position, I suppose he would be?

Mummy194 · 02/07/2021 10:49

Maybe Harry's mind was on the day and occasion ?

As someone who just had a baby, I imagine he smiles a lot.

I suppose Harry feels free to be himself now that he's out of it - since childhood that was lots of smiles, clowning and bants, so that's how he is now.

SueSaid · 02/07/2021 11:29

'He appeared to be the one acting as though the feud had never been'

True, but for once he may have put his feelings to one side you never know.

smilesy · 02/07/2021 11:34

@ajandjjmum. I was just thinking the other day that there are some major sense of humour failures around here 😂😂

queenofarles · 02/07/2021 11:54

As someone who just had a baby, I imagine he smiles a lot Mummy maybe he is happy because he is sleeping soundly with no night feeds or nappy changing duties Grin

smilesy · 02/07/2021 12:04

@queenofarles I agree. I’m not quite sure why people are insisting he must want I get back to his newborn daughter. It is different for the vast majority of us who need our partners support when we have a newborn, but I’m sure Meghan has a good support network around her and would not miss Harry’s help for a short while. Much as we love our newborns, they are not really all that interesting if we are honest. I appreciate that Harry has already been here for a while because of quarantine, but I don’t think a couple more days would really have made much difference.

Oh I don't know, maybe he loves his wife and children, misses them, and wants to be home with his family. Stranger things happen at sea.

Viviennemary · 02/07/2021 12:23

I wonder if he'd rather be back in the royal fold. I expect we will find out eventually. I read Thomas Markle's brother had just died. That's sad. He never met Harry.

Mummy194 · 02/07/2021 12:26

@queenofarles

Hahaha, yes, a picture of Harry appeared last week, and he was looking very much sleep deprived. So yes, he probably has a glow from all the sleep he just received.

He looked rather smug about the birth of Archie, so I just said it in that I imagine he must be the same for a little girl.

You are right I never know when some of you are joking or not. As the jokes are are usually dressed in sarcasm rather than funny hahaha. Reminds me of kids when pulled up on their unkindness respond with "I was only joking". However the times when they are not pulled they don't behave as if they were joking 😊

smilesy · 02/07/2021 14:38

@PicsInRed. I’m sure he does. Equally I’m sure their love and relationship is strong enough for them to bear being apart for a short while. But he hasn’t seen this side of the family for two years. And he has lots of leave scheduled with M and baby Lili. I just thought it might be an opportunity to catch up with other loved ones. Stranger things have happened as you say.

smilesy · 02/07/2021 14:40

@PreparationPreparationPrep. Sarcasm is a form of humour widely employed. It is not unkind. Unkindness is not funny. Being sarcastically funny and being unkind are not the same thing.

Samcro · 02/07/2021 14:46

smilesy · 02/07/2021 14:50

I’m sure he does. But what if he had to go away for work or something? I’m just saying a couple of days with the members of his family on this side of the pond might be nice after all this time. And I really can’t see him coming back again anytime soon with the still uncertain Covid situation and having to quarantine.

He might never have met Megan either for all we know.

I agree.

I think his visit was pleasant, from what I read - & I know you can't believe most of what you read from 'sources' but it made a change to read something positive.

Of course he had to go back home quickly, he has a wife and two little ones who need him more than we do. However I hope they all come for an extended visit before too long.

Roussette · 02/07/2021 16:07

He did have five days quarantine before and who knows which of his family he saw then. He certainly saw the Queen, as reported in numerous news sources. So he might have caught up with others also.

After the unveiling, he had lunch organised by old school friends and Army pals

News reports say he was the uncle who arranged an internship for MM in an embassy.

smilesy · 02/07/2021 16:17

He can’t see anyone if he’s in quarantine 😂😂
