William and Catherine

Apparently since Prince William and Catherine released a video thanking people helping challenge the stigma of mental health through movements like Time to Change, they should apologise to Harry and Megan for not reaching out to them. Why is it everyone else's fault that Megan didn't get the help she needed apart from Harry's. Also William has reached out, but probably now doesn't trust any conversation had won't be released to the papers.

Well they did rather draw it to our attention!

Taketheredpill · 27/04/2021 20:26

@derxa I’m not sure what you mean by ‘ it will mean nothing to you’

If you mean the increasingly frenzied PR stunts , yes you are right , it means nothing ,

They're not PR stunts. This is what the Royal Family do. They visit people and highlight areas of work around the country. The people they visited appreciated it because I follow them on Twitter and they thought it was great.

Taketheredpill · 27/04/2021 20:42

I’m sure royalists do enjoy the visits .

It’s still PR . The entire royal machine is a PR juggernaut designed to keep you distracted and entertained.

Grin I'm glad I don't take life as seriously as you. It must be miserable.
IEat · 27/04/2021 21:27

Why didn’t Megan’s husband help her? Call the Dr etc
Oh but he may have done or perhaps he didn’t
We don’t know what went on

MissLathbury · 28/04/2021 07:48

Everything had just a bit of the truth in there. I've met a few people like this. Just a little bit of truth goes a long way.

Yes, just enough truth so that people who want to believe them can do so. a good way of looking at it GrimDamnFanjo.

I think the early wedding, & the crying incident in particular, were lies intended to insult and hurt. The title issue - I think you’re right and they felt they’d been snubbed and that it was unjust. I think whenever something happened that they didn’t like, they took it personally and put the worst interpretation on it.

They both seem emotionally very immature, and (at odds with what they say about themselves) lacking in empathy. I can imagine MM feeling attacked, frustrated, isolated, and desperate to get away to somewhere she would be treated with more deference and able to control the narrative of what was happening to her - a narrative that to her was the truth, that she was victimised.

i saw the bit at a farm yesterday. was shocked that yet again W&K seem to not wear masks.

Hmm When they went into the tractor cab they did. Why would they wear masks outside? I'm a farmer. I've never worn a mask on the farm. How ridiculous. They must follow govt guidelines whenever they go on visits. Did you see the pictures of W&K at PP's funeral wearing masks? Shocked?
Roussette · 28/04/2021 12:01

Well it's nice to see they are actually doing something.
Personally, I think they could've done 5 days of this... farms up and down the country, over to Wales where the farmers are really really struggling. Ditto Cornwall and the SW.
It's not as if they haven't got help with the children or maybe William could've done some more visits on his own if Kate didn't want to do a week of visiting and supporting farmers.

One visit to a farm and sitting on a tractor doesn't cut it for me, I'm afraid. What on earth is William doing every day? No future engagements planned.

"Located in Darlington, these two amazing owners of a fifth-generational family-run farm, were able to take us through the ins and outs of how they’re working toward the UK’s 2050 net-zero target." This was what the visit was about. Not a bloody moan fest
Roussette · 28/04/2021 12:24

I am only saying they could do more. Their 'workload' is non existent.

goldierocks · 28/04/2021 12:38

"What on earth is William doing every day? No future engagements planned."

The calendar of future royal engagements was emptied for all family members following Prince Philip's death. This does not mean that no royal events are/have been scheduled.

The royal court circular lets anyone search for past events. Obviously private engagements are not included.

Roussette · 28/04/2021 12:42

Yes, I looked on there. Past 'engagements' there but obviously suspended for the future.

Samcro · 28/04/2021 12:55

They were not outside all the time. Part of what I saw was inside.

In an airy shed. You forget that I live this life every day of my life. I don't understand why you are arguing with me.

Good! I am not a raving fan, didn’t watch any weddings and wouldn’t line the streets but I enjoy the royals and it’s nice to have a distraction and be entertained. Thanks royal family.
YellowMonday · 28/04/2021 13:29

There's Harry and Meghan's truth. There's William and Catherine's truth. Then there's the actual truth. Only Meghan's truth has been spoken publicly by her. For now It's a one sided narrative.

We have no idea what really happened. We will probably never really know what happened.

I think it's important to note that Meghan stated the institution refused to help her, no mention of the family.

Since William was the one who encouraged Harry into therapy, I highly doubt that he would not help Meghan if she had asked him. I personally doubt she was turned away but other family members, as past royals have gone to therapy.

ajandjjmum · 28/04/2021 14:29

@MissLathbury

Yes, I agree that’s what she wanted. A first step would have been a referral to a psychiatrist, who could recommend inpatient treatment.

It’s not impossible that the RF would have vetoed this but I find it unlikely. They would have been risking her life and her baby’s life.

If she really needed inpatient treatment she should have had it, no matter the cost or optics.

My opinion is that she probably didn’t need it and wanted to go somewhere that was more of a health retreat or wellness centre, not an actual psychiatric ward where you have to do some hard work on yourself. In a way I hope I’m right, because I certainly hope she wasn’t begging for serious, urgent psychiatric treatment and being told no.

I think you're spot on @MissLathbury
Samcro · 28/04/2021 14:33

@derxa fair enough I stand corrected.
