For Meghan, as an American, it’s incomprehensible that she would have stayed silent. We don’t do that. Injustices are meant to be called out, and that’s what she has done. I don’t expect most British people to understand because bullying and gaslighting is so common here, and largely to blame for the mental health crisis in society.
It would have been ok, I suppose, had she just talked about her struggling with the family’s dealings with the press ie never complain, never explain and of her mental health struggles. But the character assassinations, the questioning of who’s the racist, the half truths and the down right lies (including possible misunderstandings, which should have been ironed out before airing). Those were awful. They were married 3 days in advance. Wtf?! No. They. Weren’t.
She seemed to not understand or forget that Kate had given birth about 3 weeks before the dress fitting and it is very likely she cried, that they both cried and the flowers were a peace offering rather than an apology. Whatever happened though, these should not have been leaked by royal sources, especially circa 6 months after the event... and whilst Meghan was pregnant. That was spiteful. Did she say this was a turning point for her? I think she did.
As for the comment about the colour of the baby, Harry said it was before they were married and I’m imagining the conversations were between Meghan and Harry. This is being completely ignored and a storm is brewing. That Harry can sleep at night knowing what he’s done to his family by endorsing this interview says more about him than it does about them. However, there is nothing to gain for them apart from fame and fortune.... a step closer to the White House, with a ringing endorsement from the current president.
I do hope, however, that royal sources (or if this was at K / W’s behest), they have learned something. Leaking stories are equally toxic... and they can’t beat Meghan. She will never stop.
