Daily Mail reports they have privately married at Windsor Castle.

Lovely news if true.

I hope they have a lifetime of love and happiness.

@Raimona

Good for her. She obviously didn’t feel the need to wait so she could have a flashy public wedding. Meghan could learn a lot from her.
You just couldn't resist could you? You couldn't let any opportunity to pit one woman against another go to waste. What is wrong with you?!
Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/07/2020 17:51

"A photo of the couple will not be released until Saturday, as they do not wish to overshadow Sir Captain Tom Moore being knighted"

If this is so then it's lovely of them - in fact it's lovely how both sisters have turned out given their appalling parents

TeaLibrary · 17/07/2020 17:53

Its really lovely that Beatrice and her new husband have been able to get married quietly and intimately without all the fuss and press intrusion. Wishing them much happiness together

Viviennemary · 17/07/2020 18:03

Such unselfish and true humanitarian behaviour from Beatrice and Edo. Thinking of others first and letting Sir Tom have his day.

LadyofTheManners · 17/07/2020 18:06

Clearly you're all a bunch of Royalists who refuse to believe they are capable of anything untoward.
I'm more of the opinion they don't deserve to be their with all the trappings of wealth and such via the luck of birth. They don't deserve respect at all. They should go when the Queen dies.

SoupDragon · 17/07/2020 18:13

Clearly you're bitter that they've managed to have a perfectly legal wedding and refuse to believe they are capable of doing so with out any fuss.

'True humanitarian' - having a wedding in Windsor Castle & then releasing the photo a bit later. You really set the bar low for 'humanitarian' acts. I offered my DH a cup of tea just now - shall I alert the Nobel prize committee?

Honestly, why do some posters just grovel and fawn over these 2 minor royals?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/07/2020 18:15

Quite the reverse actually; you'll find no stronger critic of the monarchy as an institution, but that doesn't mean I can't feel glad for an individual couple on their wedding day - especially when they seem to have done it tastefully and without unnecessary public fuss

MissEliza · 17/07/2020 18:16

I will never fathom how B and E turned out so well given their awful parents.

Bless, I don’t think you realise quite how the Nobel prize nomination criteria works.

Viviennemary · 17/07/2020 18:22

Small acts of kindness and thinking of others is to be commended. Some people prefer to go the way of lofty speech making to the masses but the former says a lot more about the person than any amount of drum banging.

Well said!
alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 17/07/2020 18:28

For Pete’s sake. I think it says more about posters who can’t be happy that two people have been able to become husband and wife after having to cancel their original plans.

I am very sad for anyone who has had their plans cancelled due to the pandemic but just stop trying to be a happiness thief.

As for the digs at H&M. Can’t we just have one thread where they aren’t mentioned. Posters (including myself) have said that they wish they would stay in the background so let’s not drag them into a day where they aren’t even involved.

It was kind, yes.

Oh silly me, I really thought my kind offer of a cup of tea was worth informing them about. Thank you so much for correcting me on that.

Yes

There is preaching about 'being kind' and actually being kind.

Alsohuman · 17/07/2020 18:48

Exactly that. It amazes me that critics of the monarchy can always find something. Even a modest, quiet wedding with kindness shown to an elderly national treasure draws the vitriol.

TheNavigator · 17/07/2020 19:00

To fair, calling an over privileged woman marrying a rich man in a stunning venue a 'true humanitarian' for releasing photos a wee bit later is surely a stretch for even the most ardent royalist.

Peaseblossom22 · 17/07/2020 19:17

They weren’t married in Windsor Castle , they were married in the small chapel at Royal Lodge, still pretty exclusive but nothing like St George’s Chapel where the others were married .

You’re more than welcome. Smile

Roselilly36 · 17/07/2020 19:23

Many congrats to the happy couple, wishing them many years together. Lovely that they had a private wedding without the pomp, it would be great if more royals followed their lead.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 17/07/2020 19:29

Well, you live and learn, Pease - I didn't know Royal Lodge even had a chapel Blush

It looks rather nice: royalcentral.co.uk/uk/princess-beatrices-wedding-the-royal-chapel-of-all-saints-windsor-145978/

TheNavigator · 17/07/2020 19:40

I do like the term 'royal peculiar' - really you could apply it to the whole family Grin

ArriettyJones · 17/07/2020 19:44

The extent of the royal residences are always deliberately played down.

If the public ever really understood how much the RF owns, there would be a revolt.

This isn't one that they own though is it?
