Weird or what.

Others seems to really hate MM without any evidence as they don’t know them.

And go crazy when others try to point this out or try to balance the conversation and try to ‘justify’ their hatred.

Very weird behaviour from adults.

The thing is, HandM provide news fodder on a monthly basis, so it’s no wonder that we keep talking about them.

We don’t know what is and isn’t true as we have no way of knowing the source. News comments are usually from “a friend close to the couple” but no name. Positive news isn’t good news coverage but negative is so gets reported

I saw a quote the other day, I think by Hitchcock that said a story is only as good as its villian, in other words you need a really juicy baddie. In my mind the Windsor Soap Opera was getting a bit stale. The papers tried to make Kate a baddie but just waiting to get married and working for your mum just didn't seem particularly evil! Enter Meghan. She has now become the perfect baddie because she is glamorous and has great clothes and has the real "I don't care what you think" attitude which drives the tabloids batty. Now they can frame her as "being mean to our dear elderly Queen" and obviously she must be evil incarnate. I think people on here and elsewhere (especially women) use M & H as a distraction and as the Woman We Love to Hate. It's basically entertainment and cathartic. Not nice for M & H but at the same time they do seem to be clueless and play into the hands of the tabs - like with this new book. My theory stands up when you see how quickly Kate was transformed into our "gracious, tasteful Princess Who Can Do No Wrong". I like Catherine but she is quite boring. What everyone loves about Meg is her "not giving a shit" attitude and her hypocrisy. She has been given the modern spin of evilness by the whole world diagnosing her with a Personality Disorder and calling her a Narcissist. Isn't everyone who is in Hollywood a narc? You have to be extremely thick skinned to survive in that harsh and merciless environment. The tabs are making a fortune by keeping her in the Evil Duchess role. Somehow glamorous evil women are so much more entertaining. Women can't get enough of hating on her. I think it reveals a lot about power relations in our society that she stirs such a strong visceral reaction. Harry is just the weak sidekick in thrall to her as she is clearly much more intelligent than him (in this narrative). I think if she is smart she could ride this Alexis of Dynasty role to the hilt and make a lot of money.

If they put themselves in the news, people will talk about them.

When they were “on a break” from things before Christmas no one was that interested. Had they lived a quiet life in the backwoods of Canada I’m sure everyone would have wished them luck. But that mission statement in the new year... it wasn’t quietly done, it was all public; the Sussex Royal website was the antithesis of wanting privacy.

It's a weird tale tbh.

Their wedding was a major televised event. That set the scene for the public interest really.

I quite agree.
Can't help but wonder if it was about any of the other RF, particularly another prince who is arguably in even hotter water, things don't get deleted.
Anyway, I got to see your posts before they were deleted and found them very interesting...

I think the obsession with them is a bit weird but then they do keep doing things that keep them front and centre so it is not surprising that people comment.
