You do know that Project Veritas is a right wing activist group devoted to exposing "left wing bias and corruption" in the American press, correct? It was founded by a conspiracy theorist who is known for editing videos deceptively to fit his preferred narrative. It's akin to quoting Tommy Robinson as a positive source for UK immigration policy.
This is what Amy Robach said about that 2015 video -
"As a journalist, as the Epstein story continued to unfold last summer, I was caught in a private moment of frustration," she said. "I was upset that an important interview I had conducted with Virginia Roberts didn’t air because we could not obtain sufficient corroborating evidence to meet ABC’s editorial standards about her allegations. My comments about Prince Andrew and her allegation that she had seen Bill Clinton on Epstein’s private island were in reference to what Virginia Roberts said in that interview in 2015. I was referencing her allegations — not what ABC News had verified through our reporting."
Robach continued: "The interview itself, while I was disappointed it didn’t air, didn’t meet our standards. In the years since no one ever told me or the team to stop reporting on Jeffrey Epstein, and we have continued to aggressively pursue this important story."

To an American, "the Palace" could mean Prince Andrew's staff. I wouldn't read that much into the statement about the palace killing the story. Americans aren't enamoured of the BRF, there is nothing the "palace", if the story were true, could use to bludgeon an American news site with, and UK libel laws don't apply to a US situs corporation reporting a story on US television.
One of the alleged reasons given for ABC backing away from the Epstein story was, ABC was afraid such a report would hinder future interviews with Prince William and Kate Middleton. But I can find no US interviews with the BRF in the past. I don't recall members of the BRF being interviewed by American media. I believe W&K's first interview was recently, on their tour in Pakistan, with a British reporter for CNN. The big audience for that interview would be the UK, not America.

At the time of Ms Robach's proposed story, ABC news executives stated Jeffrey Epstein was not famous enough to warrant a story. Furthermore, Amy Robach had not investigated for evidence corroborating Virginia Giuffre's claims.
It was a Florida reporter, Julie K. Brown, spent two years tracking down 80 girls and women who had been trafficked and abused by Jeffrey Epstein, who broke the story ABC didn't. She started her investigation when Alexander Acosta was nominated as Trump's Secretary of Labor. Ms. Brown knew that in 2007-2008, Mr. Acosta had approved a secret deal with Epstein in Florida, one later ruled illegal. Ms. Brown had the luxury of time, which Ms. Robach likely did not have. Plus, she did stellar work, and in fact, it was her reporting that lead to Epstein's arrest in 2019, and the entire fallout therefrom.
