Is there something seriously wrong with him?

She sounds an absolute horror. Harry didn't even meet her Dad at all. And she was on good terms with him. Big trouble ahead I'd say.

I think the last exciting monarch we had was Edward VIII - & look how that turned out. For a monarch I think I like dependable, dutiful & boring as hell.

Wolfgirrl · 24/04/2020 10:04

@HarryDaylight

Could you please reference anything I've said that has wished anyone harm? Ta.

Zug2 · 24/04/2020 10:51

^Since meghan arrived, the Cambridges look better but only by comparison, not because they have really done anything of merit. All we seem to get out of them are tweets and the odd photo of their kids.

I made that comment about the Louis photos as, sweet as they are, they are yet another useless decoy to make us feel like they have 'done' something. ^

I absolutely agree with this, the Cambridges shared very few photos of their kids, however that has changed in the last year or so, where we get to see them photos of them and see them out in public a bit more.

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/04/2020 11:03

I am no expert. But I imagine the Cambridge’s get a certain amount of their cues from PC and the Queen. Perhaps they are upping their profile with her blessing. Anything any of them do is slow and steady rather than impetuous Hazza / Edwards VIII style.

The spooning bananas is crass. Totally unbecoming of royalty. If that was a message to PH, he should have told her so at the time.

MissEliza · 24/04/2020 11:34

The police indeed do keep intelligence about fanatics who may do harm to the royal family. I know someone who does it. He says there have a list of people and when the Queen is out in public, his job is to scan the crowd for known risks. He didn't mention MN as a source of information though.

CallmeAngelina · 24/04/2020 11:35

It could be that the Cambridges have seen the backlash H&M have received from the public over what they perceive as being snubbed from any photos of Archie?
And that in the current climate, people are cheered by seeing nice pictures of the kids mucking around so it's worth it? We're hardly being flooded with them, but I do find it quite cheering.

Nikhedonia · 24/04/2020 11:51

There's some disgusting comments left under their SM posts regarding the children. You have to wonder about someone who would oust vitriol towards a child.

Nikhedonia · 24/04/2020 11:52

*post 🙄

Wolfgirrl · 24/04/2020 11:54

@MissEliza

Good. Nobody deserves to be threatened or harmed, royal or otherwise.

HarryDaylight · 24/04/2020 12:04

That goes without saying Wolfgirrl. My point earlier was that the royal family are in the unnerving position where intelligence is gathered and individuals monitored in order to protect them.

It must be an awful feeling to know that somewhere, someone you don't know wishes you harm. That's my point.

Wolfgirrl · 24/04/2020 12:13

@harrydaylight

Absolutely. There are a lot of nasty people out there. This also applies to victims of stalking, etc. There is never any excuse to threaten or harm another human being, and if anybody made such a comment I would disengage with them immediately.

However I object to any criticism of the royal family being met with cries of 'hater' and insinuation that you wish them harm.

Nobody ever seems to reply with a valid argument, just wild accusations and personal insults such as bitter, jealous etc.

In all of my arguments I have never mentioned anything unnecessarily nasty, such as the way they look, the way they dress, anything about the children (bar a comment that I believe the photos of louis to be a decoy), speculation on william and kate's marriage, or even recent scandals as I believe they degrade the republican argument.

If my scrutiny still isnt acceptable, then what would be?

CallmeAngelina · 24/04/2020 12:14

So, is this thread the appropriate place to comment on today's court case? I read some tweets earlier that seemed to suggest that Associated Newspapers are attempting to strike out some damaging claims made by MM that are irrelevant to her case?

ajandjjmum · 24/04/2020 12:35

I haven't seen anything CallmeAngelina. Here seems an appropriate place to me. Smile

EthelMayFergus · 24/04/2020 13:27

The Mirror are covering today's strike out hearing, with live updates.

Your scrutiny is perfectly acceptable Wolfgirrl but you've said it several hundred times now on various threads, we get it. And nobody here has to justify the existence of the royal family, so I'm not sure why you keep asking? It's like footballers salaries - unfair but part of life. Have you considered letting the relevant authorities know how you feel? Because mumsnetters simply don't have the power to shut them down even if everyone did agree with you.

MissHoskins · 24/04/2020 13:37

Wolfgirrl
I comment on your scrutiny of William and Kate because you always post your scrutiny on threads about Harry and Meghan. I think most people are aware of your opinions so it does get a bit monotonous when you keep posting about William and Kate on threads titled Harry and Meghan.

ChicCroissant · 24/04/2020 13:51

Some people just don't know when to stop digging themselves into a hole Grin

derxa · 24/04/2020 14:03

Go and milk some cows Wolfgirrl. That would take your mind off W&K for a wee while.

ArchePenguin · 24/04/2020 14:06

Let’s all agree to disagree. Some people love the RF. Some see the recent behaviour as the road towards republicanism. Yesterday’s Cambridge antics made me smile but IF I was Carole Middleton and IF I suspected anything and IF my darling girl was crushed, then I’d cut his bloody balls off with a pair of rusty scissors.

ArchePenguin · 24/04/2020 14:07

Let’s not get this thread deleted. Let’s say ok, fair point. Not my opinion but it’s yours so fair dos.

Wolfgirrl · 24/04/2020 14:26

Derxa, what a trooper! Always proving me right about the royalists.

Jillyhilly · 24/04/2020 15:32

I really like the idea of Harry as estate agent (or “realtor” as I guess it would be over there) to the stars! Maybe they could also parlay it into a reality series, like Million Dollar Listing (which was brilliant trash) but with a Duke (and Duchess, and Archie, and sleb friends, and clothes, and ongoing angsty conversations about the problems with their various family members). I’d watch.

All in all I’d say that this comment, about Harry working:

collectively they can add up to a decent income. More importantly it gives him credibility and some status while MM concentrates on earning the big money, which she has the drive for

is right on the money and a very good idea, which 100% guarantees they won’t do it.

MissEliza · 24/04/2020 15:54

I just saw an article on the Mailbox and it just hammers home the wisdom of taking this action. It's giving the papers the opportunity to drag the whole story up again and keep it fresh in people's minds.

Armi · 24/04/2020 16:54

Christ. Is Wolfgirrl still banging on (and on, and on, and on?) It’s the forum of equivalent of the sound of someone digging up the road with a pneumatic drill and about as interesting.
