It's looking at things through a different lens. I like to think of the positives about them. As opposed to looking for the negatives... hey ho

Harry won a case. Fact. No, it wasn't just him. Fact. Press would choose not to report about his (and others) win of a case. Fact.

Samcro · 13/03/2020 21:26

Yolo slight derail but had a look at other thread and saw the shiney show was mentioned, then life got busy, was going to ask, was that set in a library?

OP posts:
yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 21:32

samcro I am not sure... you had to give yourself a shiney for doing something clever and for months my dds used to wrap the cutlery up in tin foil and give each other shineys and/or poke each other with forks if things got spirited. It amused them but cost a fortune in tinfoil and was a bugger when all the cutlery had disappeared and we wanted to eat Grin

Samcro · 13/03/2020 21:45

Its coming back, I remember ds loved it, he is 28 now so yonks ago.
Might have to ring him lol

I think they might possibly have had purple and or green hair? Not exactly cartoons but kind of dragon-y?

Samcro · 13/03/2020 21:48

Spotted this ad on a website earlier. Oh dear!

No wonder they left with vile stuff like that. It's relentless

TheManFromTheTownHall · 14/03/2020 20:03

With regards to the fake ad mentioned above, they are by no means the only people in the public eye who have suffered from this. Martin Lewis in particular , has had terrible problems with this and indeed has started a campaign to try and get this sort of thing stopped. Other celebrities have also been targeted.

Cerseirys · 14/03/2020 20:28

That's true, there are numerous ads like that but I assumed people would realise immediately that they're fake.

Triglesoffy · 14/03/2020 20:35

The ad is for Bitcoins.

The case isn’t over yet, no side has ‘won’ the proceedings reported sound like a preliminary ruling

Samcro
why should they pay for Frogmore. unless I have got it wrong it doesn't belong to them. who ever it belongs to should pay.

I was wondering the same thing. But Andrew also paid for his renovations. I suspect that they did a similar lease as him. My guess is that they will use Frogmore as their base when they come to the UK. They did pay more than 2.4m in renovations, so they mostly likely paid more than a stated threshold amount, to make them qualify. This will probably help them not pay rent when they are not even here most of the time. Obviously, Frogmore is much smaller than Royal Lodge, so the figures will be less.

I was also wondering if, apart from the asbestos issues, H&M felt a bit awkward that The Gloucesters, will be moving all their memories from a home they lived in since the 70s. Number 1 is obviously too big for just a couple whose children have already flown the nest, but they would still be living within the grounds when they move.

Just realised the writing on the attachment is too small to see.

Royal Lodge details are here :

The person that surprises me the most is William. he is a younger royal, so I expected him to be supportive of his brother. He has been preaching about mental health, but does not seem bothered to show the support for Harry.

His statement about race at the BAFTAs did not ring true because he had seemed oblivious to MM abuse. Maybe the BAFTAs would not have looked like a sombre affair if people felt that the young royals were supportive (basically, the media pops and snide about MM wanting to go back to Hollywood, sounded like they were downgrading acting to stripping really). If W took a stand, there would be no pops from the likes of Brad Pitt.

Telling that the only time he ever put out a statement, was when he did the joint statement to absolve himself from bullying Harry - sounded self serving.

While the press was negative to Kate, Harry went all out, being seen everywhere with her, showing that she is a very welcome member of the the family - as if a two finger to the vile press.

Is it just because W&K are just a cold couple that they came across odd at the Commonwealth engagement.

Still not clear to me what H&M have actually done to K&W. Articles like this just say it as they see it.
www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/mar/15/kate-reveals-she-is-up-to-carrying-out-that-royal-duty-bearing-a-grudge-against-harry-meghan

LaurieMarlow · 15/03/2020 12:00

That article’s interesting. I agree W&K didn’t cover themselves in glory.

I think there’s a LOT going on behind closed doors that we’ve no idea about, despite all the punters who think they know what’s going on in total strangers’ lives and the palace ‘Insider’s’ who definitely do exist. Hmm.

But also begs the question of why it’s any of our business. The whole set up is so ridiculous and damaging.

One point the article makes very well is that Meghan was really good at all the royal stuff. I think that’s part of what made her so threatening to people.

On the one hand, she wasn’t ‘worthy’ (being mixed race and American). On the other, she was much better than the natives at the speeches, the connecting. A threatening combination.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 15/03/2020 12:33

I read that article earlier. It certainly made me think as I suppose I thought all the talk of a rift between the brothers was either not true or a bit exaggerated.
Obviously they're not as close as they once were but I'm a bit of a Kate fan too so would like to think it's not completely true.
It's absolutely right that we just don't know what goes on behind the closed doors. Part of the fascination I suppose.

Samcro · 15/03/2020 12:53

i don't dislike Kate. but I do think that her and Will have thrown H&M under the bus. they could have shown more support. W is a rich privileged white guy, so why would he be preaching about race issues, yet not showing them support?

Roussette · 15/03/2020 13:47

Interesting article and maybe it hit the nail on the head, who knows.

My personal take on the Cathedral sitting together, was that Kate just seemed a bit cold. And given the eyes of the world were on them, both her and W could've just.... for the sake of kindness... shown them a bit of empathy and warmth.

Yes, Kate is the perfect Queen to be, wife to W etc... but it wouldn't have hurt her to do that. Likewise W.

CleansUpPenguinPoo · 16/03/2020 12:12

And given the eyes of the world were on them, both her and W could've just.... for the sake of kindness... shown them a bit of empathy and warmth

And perhaps Harry could have done the same?

SussexRoyalPenguin · 16/03/2020 16:31

Except... Harry did. When the Cambridge’s arrived, H had a full on beam and said Hi. It was only when he was blanked that you could see his hackles rise.

Roussette · 16/03/2020 16:52

Harry did.

Cerseirys · 16/03/2020 17:23

That's true, he and Meghan both said hello and waved. William nodded briefly in their direction but I couldn't see that Kate did.

Samcro · 16/03/2020 17:31

Will comes across as a bit of a twat, that pic of him blanking M whilst playing with his scarf was not nice

OP posts:
DaveCoaches · 16/03/2020 18:29

Agree Samcro. Surely any doubts could be expressed privately but show public support for unity? He knew exactly what he was doing when he did that.
