No harm in having it ready for the next event/announcement...

Oh, I see ... sorry SirChing, you were just imagining the scenario! Don't mind me

About Kate and the fags I mean, not APB and PA.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/01/2020 15:02

Kate a smoker? That would definitely surprise me!

Pretty sure she was, probably isn't now.

Rhubarbisevil · 30/01/2020 15:13

The French topless photos showed her smoking a fag.

Goldengroveunleaving · 30/01/2020 15:14

Pretty sure she was, probably isn't now.

This too makes sense. She is such a role model now and would get huge criticism for it (one reason why I was more than surprised not to have heard before), as well as the mother of three young children and with quite a strong healthy image.

Andylion · 30/01/2020 15:48

I agree with the pps who think Camilla is a reasonably attractive, if not glamorous, woman. I also agree that she seems to fulfill her royal duties with grace and humour, however, she didn't have to go through the hard bits with PC, i.e, providing and raising an heir in the pubic eye. Now she is for the most part, accepted because she makes PC happy.

Goldengroveunleaving · 30/01/2020 15:55

providing and raising an heir in the pubic eye.

Immature snigger, sorry ...Grin

Goldengroveunleaving · 30/01/2020 15:58

That said, it's a valid point - though perhaps Camilla might not have found it quite such an ordeal; different person, different relationship.

diddl · 30/01/2020 16:05

PA & APB were "seeing each other" at one point-did it coincide with C&C seeing each other though?

I've also read somewhere that PA &APB are seeing each other again now.

Tim Lawrence looks a lovely guy imo.

I wonder if a 2nd divorce would be a step too far though?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/01/2020 16:15

I wonder if a 2nd divorce would be a step too far though?

Probably, and I suppose you'd have to ask, what would be the point? It would just draw attention to a situation that seems to be working for them as it is. (As far as we can tell of course!)

Butterymuffin · 30/01/2020 16:35

I really don't blame Charles for anything other than being weak. He was railroaded into marrying Diana

This is where I think the Queen and Philip get off lightly, since they were presumably the ones doing the railroading. Charles has made some bad choices but his family really haven't helped.

diddl · 30/01/2020 16:38

Well of course it could just be that PA & APB are together at a lot of stuff that they are both interested in & get on very well when they are together.

Oh & her husband's surname is Laurence, isn't it, not Lawrence-got that wrong.

Wasn't she seeing her present husband whilst still married to her frst?

Or there were some letters that came to light & they "had" to marry?

Well, all speculation as I don't know any of them!!

www.radioexe.co.uk/news-and-features/national-news/prince-harry-loses-complaint-against-mail-on-sunday-over-photos-that-did-not-tell-full-story/

‘Prince Harry has lost his complaint against the Mail On Sunday over photos he posted on social media of African wildlife that "did not quite tell the full story".

His objection centred around an article which reported a rhino, elephant and lion - that he put pictures of on his Instagram account - had been tranquilised and the elephant was also tethered as they were being relocated as part of conservation projects.’

I suppose sharing photos of animals tethered and tranquilised is a marked improvement on the buffalo shot dead by the Prince himself.

OP posts:
yolofish · 30/01/2020 17:11

I'm slightly confused by that. So, the animals were caught, sedated and possibly tethered for some sort of medical/ID check?

What's wrong with that? wouldnt it be common sense when dealing with something the size of an elephant to protect the humans doing whatever they were doing for its welfare?

What is H actually complaining about? Has he shot a buffalo? (I mean I know about pheasants, deer stalking etc)

Froq · 30/01/2020 17:20

Yes, the animals were being relocated so tranquillised and tethered.

Harry shared images of them for Earth Day but didn’t explain this.

The MoS published an article sharing the uncropped images showing the rope and explaining the how the animals were drugged.

Harry made a complaint saying the MoS were accusing him of misleading the public.

The committee dismissed his complaint because he was, in fact, misleading the public.

(He has previously shared images of him proudly showing off the buffalo he had hunted and shot dead in Africa)

Apologies, this states it was South America where he killed the buffalo, not Africa.

I just don't understand how anyone who is supposedly a conservationist can shoot a wild animal like that. It's disgusting.

Froq · 30/01/2020 17:57

The hypocrisy is astounding.

They want a carefully controlled image yet their own actions contradict that image. So the only thing left for them to do is accuse the press of misrepresentation/abuse etc.

OP posts:
DandyAndFine · 30/01/2020 18:02

To elaborate further:

PH had deliberately cropped the photos on Instagram to cut out the tethers. Fine, except after he was accused of that by the Daily Mail in the article, he claimed that it was Instagram’s formatting that had done it. IPSO said no it wasn’t, and you must have done it deliberately.

Hence Harry lost the ‘breach of accuracy’ complaint against the DM that he’d filed, and is proven to have lied. (Or at least, his ‘people’ did.)

I think it’s pretty disgusting. Both the attempt to deceive and then lying about it and falsely making out the Daily Mail was to blame. In this anyway he seemed to be prioritising ‘Gram worthy photos or even concern about respecting the animals’ circumstances by depicting them properly.

yolofish · 30/01/2020 18:10

Thanks for that dandy and froq.

There is nothing wrong if animals were sedated and tethered to further their welfare - so why crop it out if only to make oneself look better?

As for shooting a buffalo... ugh. Are they an endangered species? do they need to be culled for population management?

It's quite hard to be the great conservationist on the one hand and a shooter of big game animals on the other. UNLESS it is a carefully targetted shooting for herd management, in which case I have no real issue with it.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 30/01/2020 18:18

Quite yolo

SunsetBoulevard3 · 30/01/2020 18:24

I just honk being photographed beside a dead animal that you e shot, whatever the context is disgusting.

Poppyfields21 · 30/01/2020 18:26

Agreed but if it was for population management I don’t imagine you’d be there posing for a photo?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 30/01/2020 18:27

It's not the first time though is it? There was that photo they posted on their IG account apparently showing Harry and Meghan tending to an elephant in Botswana. They didn't say it was them but in the context of the post it looked that way. It took other people to credit the actual people in the photo.

Froq · 30/01/2020 18:29

Wild water buffalo are endangered, according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature.

OP posts:
7Worfs · 30/01/2020 18:37

Yikes, Harry... was this Instagram deception on his account pre-Meghan or on SussexRoyal?

I didn’t know the Botswana elephant photo was also problematic - any details?
