I think it will be born tomorrow, it will be a girl and they’ll call her Rosa Elizabeth.

What’s everyone else (who’s interested) thinking?

I still think it would have been nice if Doria had sat with Charles and Camilla. Or if Sophie Wessex or someone had gone to sit with her.

I think I agree BR. But then again, maybe she just wanted to enjoy the moment without worrying about making small talk. I know I would.

Girl and Bertrand I agree, it would have been a nice gesture but she may have felt even more like a fish out of water if they had because of how little they have in common. Maybe they asked her and she politely declined?

Didn’t she have to sit on the opposite side because of the tradition that one family sits on one side and one in the other?

Report
EdithWeston · 01/05/2019 17:51

Yes.

They were sitting in the choir, so it's bride's family cantoris (gospel side if in the nave) and groom's decani (epistle side)

It was a pity that she was sitting alone, but that's how families work out sometimes.

I did wonder why they couldn't have rustled up someone like the Lord Chamberlain to accompany her; but I suppose staff, no matter how aristocratic, don't get invited to family occasions

BertrandRussell · 01/05/2019 18:17

Yes- I know she was on the cantoris side because bride’s family. But it’s pretty untraditional for the groom’s father to accompany the bride up the aisle, and they managed that with a huge amount of charm and grace. I just hope that she was sitting alone through choice rather than through tradition.

I suppose she preferred to be alone than having that buffoon she married perched next to her.

@AuldJosey

you could see that she didn't give a crap her dd was becoming a princess

Really, could you? How?

Does that mean people could tell I was thinking "This ruddy hat was ill-advised. Nobody behind me can see" during my daughter's wedding?

I suppose that even if she gives birth today, any announcement will be held over until tomorrow.

Lovely pix of Princess Charlotte today

Im convinced it will be a girl called Theadora (that they will call Thea for short).
Theadora Frances.
For a boy, John Spencer Philip

Theodora is cool. I like that.

you could see she was just hoping - 'I hope you're happy baby'. It was just pure love and concern that you could see

It was probably fucking terror that her daughter was marrying into a family that made her ex-husband looked positively normal.

It can't be Arthur can it as the last baby had Arthur as a middle name right? I can sense the AIBU right now.

Report
lyralalala · 02/05/2019 17:48

George has Louis as a middle name and it was still used.

IndianaJonesAndTheTempleOfDoom · 02/05/2019 17:49

Oh, didn't realise. I still think people would blame Markel for "stealing" a name Grin

The Sun seems to think it will be Allegra

And btw in a separate note, a thread has appeared from MNHQ (stickied in this topic)

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/the_royal_family/3573714-Were-merging-some-sections-into-the-Chat-area

If you don't think this one should go, now is probably a good time to post on that thread to say so (I think InterchangeableEmma made a good post)

(Yes, there are other topics being culled. No AFAIK there's no actual consolidated list if which they are)

I'm guessing Spencer for a boy as tribute to his mum and Alice Diana for a girl

IndianaJonesAndTheTempleOfDoom · 02/05/2019 19:46

Allegra is a seasonal allergy medication in America with obnoxious adverts to go with it. I don't see it happening Grin

I'm fed up of refreshing Google!! I really hope they do announce something soon if she's had it. You can't be all out there publicly one minute then want privacy the next.

I think Grace BTW 😁

Prince Harry has (according to The Telegraph) pulled out of the Amsterdam trip next week, but is still intending to go to The Hague.

As it's only one day's difference, I'm not sure why it's fuelling rumours so much! Ditto police car carrying pink blankets (yeah, right, that's so much a police duty when they have all sorts of other staff to do any fetching and carrying)

I think there will be a prompt announcement when she's sprouted, and the reason for silence is that there is nothing to be said yet.

(See zillions of MN threads passim about how tiresome it is in the last days of a pregnancy to be dealing with endless enquiries about whether you've had it yet).

'sprouted'

Sorry - keyboard clearly didn't recognise the word 'sprogged'

I really hope it's a boy and they call him Dave. Grin
