Awful news for the whole family. She must have been about twenty weeks I guess. I have a friend who discovered a loss at the same point. It's a dreadful shock. I hope the press leaves them very much alone.

Sad news.

Riversleep · 24/12/2016 16:39

How awful for them, just before Christmas.

I don't think anyone is gossiping here. Just saying how sad it is that she's lost her baby. And I don't think anyone is going to be following them around taking pictures of them to post on here, like the paps probably will to sell to the SBoS, who will be only too happy to buy and print them Sad

It's very sad, at five months you think you are ok.

So sad. And very close to home for me as I had a second trimester loss myself just before Christmas 5 years ago. It sounds like she was further on than me though (I was just over 13 weeks).

FATEdestiny · 24/12/2016 20:56

I was thinking about the timing of this sad news. Because there was no urgency to make the public announcement, it could have been done after Christmas or ibtontge new year.

I wonder if it's to do with the royal family visit to church tomorrow. There are always well wishes and press. I guess no one wanted the awkwardness of congratulations being given to Zara as she went to church. It will have a very different tone as she goes to church now.

I really felt sorry for them when I heard this earlier, all three of them including their daughter. Having lost a baby at 22 weeks it's unspeakably awful for all the family. Our DD was three when We lost our DS and it impacted on her too.

Northernlurker · 24/12/2016 21:11

I would be very surprised if she is even at Sandringham let alone at church. And of course Princess Anne may have changed her plans too. I know she always seems quite stern and unemotional but she's a pretty involved granny.

I don't think the Tindalls are always at Sandringham.

But yes, the Princess Royal might change her plans. And the family may wish to pray for them (in church as well as in private).

Would t William and Kate usually release pics of G and C at this time of year? Wondering if they have refrained because of this.....
