How many of you are excited for Kate's second child?
Are you looking forward to the first glimpse of the child.

OP posts:
DrElizabethPlimpton · 20/04/2015 10:54

Sorry, no I'm not excited in the least. I do however hope she has a safe delivery and a healthy baby. But I wish any pregnant woman the same.

Jackie0 · 20/04/2015 10:56

I am. I get quite emotional about it all. I remember William being born. Its wonderful, history being made before our eyes.

butterflyballs · 20/04/2015 11:01

Yes, although it's not considered cool to like the royals or be interested in them, I'm looking forward to it. I hope she has a girl.

MyArksNotReady · 20/04/2015 11:01

I have nothing against her personally she seems a kind lady.

I think new babies are a gift.

I know someone has to be head of state. It just irritates me one family have public funds and lands for example DoCornwall.

I am sure I will be pleased for the happy arrival and will coo at the cute baby when it arrives.

AuntieStella · 21/04/2015 13:40

I've seen on the news that there are people camping outside the hospital already.

That's seems a little weird.

EdithWeston · 21/04/2015 16:00

HMQ's 89th birthday today.

This baby will be her 5th great-grandchild, of have I counted wrong?

MyArksNotReady · 21/04/2015 16:41

Peter Phillips has two girls. Zara has one girl. William has one boy. This will be the fifth.

EdithWeston · 21/04/2015 19:52

Glad I hadn't forgotten anyone!

Ratfinkandbobo · 21/04/2015 19:53

No

NapoleonsNose · 21/04/2015 20:00

Interested but not particularly excited. More excited that DB's pfb is due around the same time - first niece/nephew on that side and its also very near my birthday!

AuntieStella · 22/04/2015 06:57

I'm just watching BBC Breakfast, and they've done a piece about the new pad in Norfolk.

Do you think they have royal-themed filler pieces for the rest of the month, as they're leaving space for actual sprog news?

EdithWeston · 23/04/2015 17:09

Well, all went quiet. And those filler-type news items seem to have vanished too.

There isn't much of April left. I wonder if they announce the rough date a week or so after the actual due date so that expectation doesn't ramp up too much. It's bad enough having family and friends wondering how much longer. So I bet anything that puts off swathes of the country doing it would be worth a try.

AuntieStella · 23/04/2015 17:10
Dragon

Surely it would be her patriotic duty to sprog today?

YDdraigGoch · 23/04/2015 17:14

Maybe she's already had it! I'm quietly excited too , but don't tell anyone I know!

EdithWeston · 23/04/2015 17:59

I don't think they'd manage to keep it all under wraps! Or could that story about the house in Norfolk be cunning code for 'home birth in East Anglia'?

If so, I feel sorry for this chap who is already camping outside the hospital. And some meanie has nicked his sleeping bag!

It says he camped out for 13 date for the birth of Prince George. 13 days!

DragonWithAGirlTattoo · 23/04/2015 18:01

Nope
boring

Only clicked as this was in the active threads.

EdithWeston · 23/04/2015 19:41

Is that second baby stereotype?

frankie80 · 24/04/2015 10:23

Apparently there isn't going to be an announcement this time until after the baby's born. She could be there without us knowing but I doubt someone won't notice her going in.

AuntieStella · 24/04/2015 18:08

I liked this brief letter in The Telegraph today:

"Election news has become so tedious that, for once, I have been eagerly awaiting extensive coverage of the royal birth"

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 27/04/2015 21:47

Im excited. I loved the anticipation of waiting for them to leave Hospital last time round, on mat leave myself, thinking thank god I didnt have to face all that!

AuntieStella · 27/04/2015 22:54

There's a 'guess the sex/weight/name' thread going in _chat this evening.

As no-one knows exactly when she's due, though there isn't much of April left, we've no idea if she's 40+ and very fed up

MadameJulienBaptiste · 27/04/2015 23:00

I also wondered about a home birth with a helicopter standing by in case of any prob that need hospital attention.
last time some journos tweeted about seeing her go in the back door of the hospital. I cant imagine being in labour with the whole world knowing and waiting right outside.
Dp and I told no one anything till ds1 was born. So yes, my money is on a home birth with an announcement then no sign of any of them for weeks.

Akire · 27/04/2015 23:06

Not very excited no, I will watch the 5m it's on the news for but will not be gluded to 24h news just to see.

I'm guessing she can't have it at home invade there any problems guessing heir to the throne abit more funny about these things.

EdithWeston · 27/04/2015 23:17

Arriving by helicopter might be a bit too conspicuous (St Mary's does have a helipad, but the Air Ambulance usually goes in and out of the Royal London, doesn't it?)

IIRC, she went in during the night last time. No-one clocked the actual arrival, but as they have bodyguards and other staff, it's probably impossible to keep their arrival at hospital under wraps.

MadameJulienBaptiste · 27/04/2015 23:28

Yes a couple of journos clocked the arrival and announced it on twitter. When interviewed they seemed to think the had made some kind of huge professional scoop sacrifice by not taking pictures.

And if it's a home birth that ends up a helicopter dash, I bet they'll nip her into the nearest hospital.

If a home birth is planned they must all be pmsl about the press and superfans camped outside the Lindo Grin
