Are many people planning street parties?
What you doing at yours? Would a bouncy castle be overkill do you think?

Ds's school not giving day off. Means I can sit in front of TV with a glass of Bailey's without interruption or repetition, remembering Will's dad getting hitched and feeling very old do a normal day's work.

'At least in the US system they're elected.'

And they can only serve 2 terms, 8 years in total, before they have to move on. This in ensconced in the written Constitution, Amendment 22.

You can't inherit a presidency, the house they live in is tied accommodation, the pay is $280,000USD/year and the title is simply 'Mr. President', a moniker that passes to each elected official.

Hardly a comparison.

no parties, no crowds, no balcony kisses

just home on the other side of london in the peace and quiet of my lounge....with my feet up and a cup of tea....with my son and hairier-other-half

I hope I don't regret making a fuss.

I doubt I will.
