I remember keeping the kibble bag out on the side when I had FC1 because it never occurred to me that he’d try to open it.

Until I got back from work to find a long slit in the bag & kibble all over the floor, anyway.

Toad used to be a nightmare for opening food pouches if they weren't securely locked away. He'd scratch and bite at them, then eat whatever he could. There would be a trail of half devoured pouches in his wake.

Pigeon would rip open bakery bags to get to bread rolls and then have a little chew on them.

The elusive Boudicca was caught on camera in the early hours. At least she's comfortable enough to come out even if it's only at night.

Kirova · Yesterday 11:10

She is avoiding the Romans - who in this version are presumably the other cats - so she has to travel by night.

Pixiedust1234 · Yesterday 12:59

My DM was under the impression that cling film puts a protective forcefield around cooked chicken and was very cross when she discovered it had failed. My first two cats were very fat and very happy.

LostCats2 · Yesterday 13:16

Why is there no laughing reaction emoji!!!
Some of these stories are hilarious!

Ps @Kirova I very much enjoyed the Romans comment 😂😂😂

BellaPommefritio · Yesterday 13:46

I know! I think friendly threads should get the emoji back, we can behave perfectly well on here! And louche cat sprawls always make me laugh!

An ex-neighbour came to visit yesterday, she has only seen Micia hiding squashed up small. She suddenly said "there is a big fat fuzzy cat in your garden". Yep that would be Micia! Ooops! Maybe I need to cut down on the roast chicken.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · Yesterday 14:40

big fat fuzzy cat
😆

My best friend's brother brought a cat back from somewhere like Dubai where he'd been working as he couldn't bear to leave him. His name is Dr Cigarettes (no idea why) and he is the most chilled cat ever. He also only has one eye. Jack (the brother) has sent videos of the Doctor paddling in the bath, lounging around all over the place, and discovering how to flush the toilet.

Fergus has been to vet today for neutering
He’s not happy with the collar - we tried a soft padded version but he kept taking it off
Finally managed to get him to sleep in it - daren’t move now!

Shady has been really upset by the fireworks Sad the display was about 400ft from us and so loud
I ended up ringing the vet who couldn’t advise without seeing him but reception said “obviously you won’t have any gabapentin left from his cystitis. Shame. We usually do 100mg for this. If you had any…”

I did have, and I shoved 100mg down him and he’s now very stoned

Thank you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne. Here’s a picture of my Halloween display, the real black cat of the house wouldn’t cooperate so it’s a fake one 🐈‍⬛🎃

Snap!! Plus the real cat!

Poor Shady 😭

The sooner the government sorts out fireworks the better. Public displays only, and a limit on noise, is the only way forward imo. Hopefully they respond to the RSPCAs petition soon.

He was seeing colours on the dose I gave him Blush

I don't buy gabapentin from the vet. It's so expensive.

I'm prescribed it by my doctor, so I asked the vet if I could use it, and she said I could. So I tip out the powder from a 300mg capsule, add 1.5ml of water and mix it up. Then I draw up 0.5ml of the resulting mixture, which of course is 1/3 of it - so 100mg.

Then I add it to Gizmo's cat soup and he consumes it.

I've been reorganising furniture (and litter trays) all morning. The cats are very overexcited by all this activity.

I'm surprised Gizmo is interested in cat soup. He looks more a whole roast chicken kind of cat.

@icecreamscreams Poor Shady.
We have to go out tonight 6-10pm - I am dreading it. Cat has not liked the fireworks but has been ok sitting with us.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · Today 15:07

Lenny has excelled himself today with a large rat. Really quite impressed.
He was not allowed in until he dropped it. 😆

OMG Linney was very keen on bringing me rodents like that.
Yuk.

At least Gizmo doesn't/can't catch anything.

RumNotRun · Today 15:25

That is very impressive Lenny!

The fireworks weren't too bad round here last night but Thursday was awful. I had cat music playing on the kitchen and bedroom but some of the bangs were just ridiculously loud.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · Today 15:26

BTW Gizmo's Dad (the original one) is coming to Scotland next year and he's coming to see me and Mr. Gizmo.

I'll be interested to see if Gizmo remembers him.

Ha! He loves cat soup.

And roast chicken. He was also very interested in last year's turkey.

Edited

Soup as a starter then, fair enough. Very civilised.

LostCats2 · Today 15:44

Ok just WOW I am impressed Lenny! I hope he was suitably congratulated 😁

And can I just say 'Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh! How special that TC's Dad is coming to see his boy!' ❤
