Thanks everyone looks like an ear infection. Thank goodness. Will be popping back on to see how everyone is soon x

LostCats2 · 02/11/2026 18:43

Hi all,
I just wanted to say thank you so very much for how unbelievably kind you have all been about our precious boy. We loved him so much it feels like the love has kept him alive in my heart if that makes sense?
Had a sad a few minutes ago as I realised I won't have any new photos of him ever again on my phone. So I decided to fix that by sending myself photos of him ❤

@WorthySloth I'm so glad to hear Wednesday 'just' has an ear infection. Even though that must be horrible for her, it's so easily treatable thankfully.

All the photos on the last thread were so gorgeous!
Let us hope this month and the coming many months are just talking about happy stories of cats.

Jim, who has destroyed our carpet (we had to buy a carpet cleaner! - which in fairness I am very pleased about) was just caught on the counter eating margarine. So his delicate little tum tum is going to go full volcano soon. Sigh.

Not my cat (or house), but this cat has excellent taste. (I don’t think the harpist was too pleased about this gentleman rubbing all over her instrument!)

Much as I try to be a mature adult, when I read this my first thought was 'oo-err Missus' !
You can take the woman from the council estate.....

Kirova · 02/11/2026 19:31

I am disappointed in my neighbour (the adopter of FC1).

I was showing him pictures of the kittens and he pointed at little tabby and said "You want that one."

So I told him he has a duty to tell me I have lost my mind if I show signs I am even thinking about it. But he said he's not going to do that because he thinks it would be sweet. This was not the kind of support I needed!

That's very good news. Very treatable and not the dark path you thought it was ❤

@Kirova Go on, you know you want to 😂

JoanOgden · 02/11/2026 20:30

Very pleased to hear that Wednesday cat has been diagnosed and is hopefully on the way to recovery!

@learieonthewildmoor how are you doing? I was just thinking about Cat 4's tail.

LostCats2 · 02/11/2026 20:30

Ah @Kirova go on 😁More cats = better.
Plus you already know her and her tummy, unlike my Jim and me and my late beloved blue couch which is in what is now called 'The Poo Room'. It used to be called the playroom

WorthySloth · 02/11/2026 21:30

Poor stoned Wednesday recovering at home 💕

Well I am home and the cats were all in my bedroom waiting. Fred hissed at me, looked confused and meowed while rubbing his head on my hand. Toad meowed, Lex looked at me and went back to sleep and Raven just stared. Boudi was in hiding down the side of my bed but didn't hiss or growl at me. However, I then went to bed cause I slept awfully last night and as I was drifting off, heard Raven hissing. She was on the landing, the boys were on the bed, so I presume Boudi has gone out of the bedroom. I haven't been able to find her since. I've searched everywhere in my room and checked the bathroom which are the only two open rooms upstairs. No Boudicca. I can't see her in the kitchen, hallway or lounge, so the only two rooms left are the utility and middle room downstairs. Unfortunately they are both quite full of stored stuff so I have no hope of finding her in either room.

I am sure she'll appear at some point, I just hope that's before she needs the toilet! Unlike the others, shaking treats doesn't work for her yet and she doesn't appear when you call her.

Kirova · 02/11/2026 22:46

@RumNotRun she will reappear! They can make themselves so small when they want to... Fingers crossed she comes out sooner rather than later (and indeed, hopefully before she needs the toilet).

Urgh, don't tempt me. If I had a bigger flat / house I would, but I don't think it is very fair. She could have a much better life in a lovely big house somewhere.

I have to think of Edith (FC3) too and I'm not convinced she'd go for it. FC4 would no doubt be delighted at another playmate - he thinks Edith doesn't play with him as much as he would like, i.e. all the time. She's finally got bored of being ambushed via the new tunnel and has gone off into the night, probably to glower at some foxes and use beautifully curated garden over the back as her toilet😂

DrDisrespect · 02/11/2026 23:55

Katja checking in with all the other excellent cats 😊

Oh dear Rum - I'm sure Boudi will pop out of wherever she's hiding eventually.

@Allergictoironing when is Tobias' appt?

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 03/11/2026 13:57

Meanwhile, in other news, I woke up at 05.00 for the annual Tesco's Christmas Slot-a-thon.

Last year I fell asleep just as I was entering the virtual store, so it was all a waste of time. I was furious.

This year, however, I was successful.
I now have eight slots booked between now and January 4th.

Well done @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne we'll all be over to yours for Christmas then 😁

Boudi is still in hiding. There's food and litter trays downstairs so providing she ventures out of wherever she is, then she'll be ok. I keep calling her, not really expecting a response but disappointed when she doesn't appear.

One of the other cats appears to be annoyed that I have removed the upstairs litter tray and has done a poo in the bath a couple of times! Lazy little bugger, whoever it is, they know the trays are downstairs. The upstairs one was only for Boudi while she wouldn't go downstairs

HumanToCatBeasties · 03/11/2026 16:16

Hope Boudi makes a reappearance soon Rum.

I've just gone to get my cardigan, only to find Matilda had got there first. I didn't have the heart to turf her off.

lovely to see all the excellent cats again 💕

Poor Wednesday. Hope she feels better soon.

@Allergictoironing when is Tobias' appt?

Thursday morning. The over-enthusiastic system at the vets emailed me a reminder to book his check up, so I called them & they conformed that yes I HAD booked it 6 weeks ago for the date & time I thought it was, the system was just being silly.

The ASDA version was open for me weeks ago, possibly because I do their slot subscription thing so pay a sum monthly & get all deliveries for free. That's paid for December already - early evening slot on 23 December free. Has to be evening as I'm working that day.

I remember someone on an MN post years ago who forgot she'd booked a slot in advance and booked a second one. To hold the slot of course you need £x amount in the order, so she'd just put on about 10 bottles of fizz when she made the original one.

Seeing your post, I may book a couple more slots for the following week as I'm working every day that isn't a Bank Holiday.

Kirova · 03/11/2026 18:14

@Allergictoironing My friend did this during COVID, when the slots were as rare as hens' teeth. He used to put a single bottle of whiskey in the basket to "reserve" the slot, since that fulfilled the minimum price requirement. Of course, one time he forgot to update it in time and a delivery guy duly turned up and solemnly handed over a single bottle of whiskey at the door.

Testing Fergus collar weight with the air tag tonight - he doesn’t seem bothered by it - he’s off to be neutered on Friday so will start letting him out in a few weeks time with a full tracker
