Cat’s birthday

It’s her birthday next week (13). What should I do for it? Usually get her something.

Just checked this thread out as I thought it was a joke. But apparantly not, people seem to get their pets birthday presents. Whatever rocks your boat- happy birthday to all kitties out there from an old grinch (46) who doesn't even want to celebrate her own birthday 😂

Ha ha, well, they are part of the family! I'd rather celebrate my pets and OH's birthday than my own. Theirs are more fun.

In my extended family everyone buys birthday & Christmas presents for the pets.

My sister’s dog was expert at tearing off wrapping paper.

No it’s not a joke. I’ve celebrated all my 3 previous cats birthdays too. My cat now likes tearing off wrapping paper. They deserve special days like humans. At Christmas they’re spoiled too.

An ex colleague of mine celebrated her dachshund’s birthday with a party with banners, balloons, cake, present and party hat for the dog.

She has a donut type cat bed. I made a rod for my own bed allowing her to sleep with me but she’s very good.

I was fostering my cat & then realised I had to adopt her. (In my defence she was my 9th foster in 2 years, so I didn’t fail easily).

We mark her birthday, the day she arrived & the day of adoption. Because it’s fun.

Exactly! We all need more fun in our lives. Even though my cat doesn’t appreciate half her toys!

We’ve been singing happy birthday today as one of our British Blues is 8 today.

A PP mentioned the cigar shaped toy. We have two of them and often see them on the floor and think “oh no!” The cats love to hold onto them. They also love the catnip toys that look like little square sacks.

This is adorable! Do you just celebrate her human annual birthday or also all the cat years in between?

(We usually get a cake for the humans on Dcat's birthday and he gets a special squeezy yoghurt treat that he loves)

She gets her birthday celebrated every year not every cat years.

I suppose it is adorable. She’s just a big part of my life. My French friend Peggy who lives in London with her black cat Maya, same age as my Tilly, also celebrates her cat’s birthday annually. I don’t think my other friend celebrates her Tonkinese cats’ birthdays, as she finds them a pita! I’m sure her daughter does though.
