......... and try to break into the film industry.

It'll be an unlikely success as they'll have to stay awake for long periods while filming goes on.

Well. Unless they decide to make Carry On Sleeping.

Does anyone think the felines on this thread would be interested in this cat bed?

That is fantastic @Pudmyboy It would go perfectly with Fred's scratching mats which are based on famous works of art.

Finlay is exhausted tonight after helping clean the fish out and then supporting us with Lego

He may be hinting that when he passes, he wants to be stuffed and put up there?

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/04/2026 07:20

Or winding Gizmo up since I bet he can’t get up there?

I moved Kitty’s birthday catnip seeds into a big pot yesterday afternoon while she was asleep. The basket would be no protection if she really wanted to get in there but she’s not particularly interested yet.

See what? 😂 No cats here. 🐈‍⬛

How's Micia doing - is she exploring the whole house now?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 13/04/2026 09:08

Micia has a very luxuriant tail.

There is indeed a lot of floof on that tail 😻

Breadcat24 · 13/04/2026 09:47

Thanks
A whole lot of floof all over.
At lease we can stroke her now, which I think will reduce matts.
She has the run of the house- including going out to her catio (but will not push the door we have to wedge it open which is chilly)
She seems most active at night playing with toys, wrowling and running up and down stairs

It's lovely to see how much progress Micia is making.

Yes, and it feels like it's happened in a short space of time.

We are in a bit of a shedding crisis with Snowcat. We were away for a week so she didn't get brushed, which I think meant she got to a tipping point and we came back to find the whole house coated with white hair and several hairballs deposited thoughtfully on different carpets. Last spring she shed quite a bit but not nearly as much as this, but I guess she was still a kitten then.

I did multiple brushing sessions on her yesterday and enough hair came off her to make another small cat. DD2 brushed her again this morning and got about a hamster worth.

She looks like a normal cat but she seems to have about twice as much fur as is visible to the naked eye.

EmpressaurusKitty · 13/04/2026 12:53

Maybe Snowcat’s got yeti genes?

Breadcat24 · 13/04/2026 14:03

@stormsandsunshine @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Thank you so much. It seems slow to me - we are just coming up to 2.5 months.
We are happy to take it slow though as long as she is happy. She is such a sweet thing when she cuddles her catnip mice and carries them around.
By the way she is hiding these somewhere and I do not know where! Hope she is not swallowing them.
If you collect the white fur from Snowcat and I collect the black fur from Micia we can knit stripy socks

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/04/2026 18:19

Just removed the first tick of the year from Karl.
Impressed that I'd remembered where I'd secreted the tick twister though 😁

Between us we have just about all the cat colours you can get, so maybe we should be looking at doing a combined felting project? Something like a clowder of cats sitting together.

Girlcat is offering piles of very silky silvery white undercoat for the project. Tobias insists on rolling on carpets to remove his, so I may have to find where the vacuum cleaner is hiding if we need more brown tabby mixed with white.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 13/04/2026 18:40

I can offer more russetty black fur than anyone could use in a lifetime, and fir variety lots of grey wispy fur tumbleweeds.

RumNotRun · 13/04/2026 22:11

I can offer up a load of black fur and white fur, from Raven and Fred respectively. The others don't shed much.

Frankenstein concentrates very hard at Lick-e-lix time.

Kitty’s favourite mouse has just come out of the catnip tub.

@EmpressaurusKitty so cute
Do you "re-infuse them by sticking in catnip when they lose their intensity?

Yes, her catnip toys go in the tub on rotation.

Breadcat24 · 15/04/2026 12:22

@EmpressaurusKitty Have set up the tub just need to find the toys. The little soft mousey one she hide. At least I hope she hides them she wouldn't eat them would she eek!
