......... and try to break into the film industry.

It'll be an unlikely success as they'll have to stay awake for long periods while filming goes on.

Well. Unless they decide to make Carry On Sleeping.

Son of Kitty either had thumbs or might as well have done.

Could he open doors or send text messages?

Pudmyboy · 16/03/2026 18:53

Breadcat24 · 16/03/2026 18:21

Micia has decided that she likes to balance on the top of open doors then lauch off which is a bit of a concern.
Also I am not certain but I think she has thumbs. Been trying to get a picture
I know that seems vague but genuinely we are only just getting to see her properly now the days are brighter and she rolls when I stroke her

Lovely to see her accepting cuddles! 😻😻

I never actually saw him doing either of those.

I wonder what the new AI title thing would suggest as the title for the next Excellent Cats thread. Probably something quite dull.

I'll ask it nearer the time, and then ignore its advice.

Right, I'm definitely ignoring its advice.
Here are a selection of its suggestions:

AIBU to Think Cats Are Excellent? Cat Thread

AIBU to think my cat is particularly excellent?

We’ve done dogs, now: excellent cats

RANT INCOMING.......

I mean....... where is the humour, the alliteration, the mention of Ljubljana Jail? Where is the nod to the theme of the previous thread?

Pah. A mind such as my own does not need AI's advice on this subject.

Or any subject

A previous boss used it a few times to do e-mails and I ripped them apart - slimy, grovelling or patronising half the time, condescending occasionally, saccharine, poor grammar.... And quite often completely missing the main point & emphasising bollocks instead.

At work I use the AI to just sort processes into a logical order, then rewrite it completely. And I only do that because it's pushed so hard; I think the big bosses think we're all ignorant ill educated idiots who can't write meaningful reports or letters.

I was a very well respected process developer in a past life, where words and meanings were critical to get right and very clear. I also used to write a lot of feasibility reports where we needed to lead the senior Civil Servants into the right decisions without letting them know they were being led (very sucessfully I might add).

So having them suggest we all "need" to use this heap of Microshaft cr*p to write things well I find insulting!

I decided to watch TV on my laptop in bed tonight. Frank has decided he is interested in watching From with me.

@Pudmyboy he is needed a beautiful boy. No big stinky poo in the litter tray yet, I'm afraid. He's had a bit of a leaky bum today though, which worried me. Back to the vets (yet again) to be checked tonight. She said it's a bit of discharge from his bottom, and the fact he can pee and move his tail a bit are really good signs. All signs from the main chest injury are good, and they're happy now for me to monitor him from home and give them phone updates. Great news for a very stressy little cat who panics at the vets. He's eating pretty well and is currently stretched out on my legs, sleeping.

I had a call tonight from the emergency vets in Liverpool who did his life-saving surgery just over two weeks ago. It was the vet who actually did the surgery and he was just calling to find out how Benny is getting on. I found that so touching and lovely. Everyone has been incredible throughout this whole saga and I'm so thankful.

Coming back to the AI thing for a moment, AIBU has fuck all to do with these threads. We all know perfectly well that our cats are excellent.

Kitty is continuing to take her Neighbourhood Watch role very seriously, including reporting back.

@coastergirl that is excellent service from the vet, if I lived up there I would definitely be asking for the name!
Here's another day of fingers crossed for Benny the Beautiful to produce a fine well formed poo 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Pud used to watch TV with me sometimes, and some years ago when I stayed for a while with a friend, one of her cats used to watch TV with me, then stretch, meow and go on his evening prowl. I decided the meow was him saying 'I'm off now, don't wait up'.

There are a few subjects that I find triggering, mainly around the complete idiocy of senior management especially in public service bodies.

Then again, don't get me on the subject of drivers who seem to think you get extra brownie points or something for being consistently 10mph under the speed limit whatever the conditions. Yes I mean you, arse who insisted on doing 35mph in a 50 zone yesterday morning in perfect driving conditions holding up dozens of commuters!

My brother’s collie loves watching TV. Apparently he first noticed it when Countryfile were doing a feature on sheepdogs.

Based on that update I've just wished my team (on my 9.00 daily call) a very happy St Gertrude's day.

I"m afraid they were unimpressed 🤣

Last night there was a crash from my kitchen. I went in to find Toad growling over a piece of chicken, and the rest of the chicken I had lovingly marinated and cooked spread all over the floor, along with the pan. Fred was trying to look innocent but the orange stains on his fur today suggest otherwise. The bloody marinade had all the things that cats shouldn't eat, garlic, onions, chillis...

@RumNotRun Fred looks like he found it very tasty!

RumNotRun · 17/03/2026 13:19

From the growling noises, so did Toad. He was not happy when I took the chicken off him.
