New tiny kitten

Hello! We have acquired a teeny kitten (supposedly 9 weeks old) but she’s the runt and is very small.
i haven’t weighed her, we only got her today.
We’ve kitten proofed the lounge and are keeping the dog and the other cat away.
She has one snotty eye which I’m cleaning every couple of hours with cooled saline solution
I’ve bought kitten milk and dry and wet food (the same as she was having where she came from).
Shes done a wee and a loose poo in the litter tray and mostly slept. She wasn’t interested in the food or water or saucer of milk so I syringed about 5ml warm kitten milk into her and that woke her up a bit. she then ate a little wet food.

are we doing the right things?

Breeder has been in touch and thanked me for taking her to the vets and said ‘obviously I don’t want anything for her’.

Just as well ! ( I'd be thinking Well I'm obviously not giving you anything for her ! ) she has washed her hands clean and the kitten is now your responsibility . I am angered by the number of people who breed to sell with no back up. There will always be a litter where one fails to thrive , and there is no guarantee with any litter .
Hopefully she'll have MumCat spayed but who knows ?
She'll try and pass herself as a MadCat Lady ditzy hobby breeder .

Now your house is Penny's Penny is yours , the cat will need the introductions and the Dog ......will deal with it

I'm loving Penny's story - she really has found her forever home, hasn't she? It warms my heart.

(Though may I say - with the internet being what it is - you might want to ask Mnet HQ to remove the photo of your son... 🙂).

She is being super pampered. Daughter is her prime carer (😆) and her new mummy, I’m just the provider of All Things!

Report the breeder to a local charity or cat protection. RSPCA are shit.

she’s as fit as a fiddle and has discovered her purr today and started to play with toys.

Penny is so adorable. I’m so glad she’s starting to purr and play. It took my little feral kitten a while to work toys out but she loves them now.

I've had a couple of kittens over time who started off in situation like yours, the first thing I do is put them down my top with a bit of kitchen roll in my bra in case of accidents, it keeps them warm and your heartbeat provides comfort.

Soon they are purring happily and then I start to offer food from my finger and some water. They have come on brilliantly and are real chunks now

Antibiotics are finishing today, her eye looks totally better and her bowels are totally normal.
She has a voracious appetite and eats every couple of hours.

You have done something incredible. I only hope the other kittens where she came from are half as lucky. I personally would report them. Penny is the most gorgeous puss.

I’m a community nurse and she was the neighbour of a patient I was visiting
