New tiny kitten

Hello! We have acquired a teeny kitten (supposedly 9 weeks old) but she’s the runt and is very small.
i haven’t weighed her, we only got her today.
We’ve kitten proofed the lounge and are keeping the dog and the other cat away.
She has one snotty eye which I’m cleaning every couple of hours with cooled saline solution
I’ve bought kitten milk and dry and wet food (the same as she was having where she came from).
Shes done a wee and a loose poo in the litter tray and mostly slept. She wasn’t interested in the food or water or saucer of milk so I syringed about 5ml warm kitten milk into her and that woke her up a bit. she then ate a little wet food.

are we doing the right things?

That is great to hear -not the No Photos but the bit where she tanks about like a kitten should be doing. She is happy and healthy and exploring her environment .

It also means she's doing the "No , I won't sit still for a photo , I'm not here to entertain you lot "
When she's a sedate adult moggy you'll either wish for the kitten days or think "thank goodness"

Ours were a year old when we got them so young cats but not kittens . They still have the odd mad half hour though !

Here she is today, watching me have a bath and having cuddles with me and Merlin 🩷
Looking more grown up all the time. We went away for a couple of days and my neighbour popped in to feed and play with them

Yes both in my arms! I was cuddling Merlin and my daughter plonked Penny on top 😆

Penny was a very lucky girl the day you picked her up and took her home. I’m so glad she’s repaying all your efforts so well.

I love the way the markings on her front legs line up, it’s so cute and her coat looks amazing now, all glossy and soft. You’ve all done an amazing job taking care of Penny.

The picture of health and so beautiful. She really is a lucky Penny, and all three of you together look so happy.

I’d love to cuddle our boy like that but he just won’t! Everything is on his terms only and he will cuddle me and hoist himself right up to my face but no way can I do the same with him. I do think Merlin is a very handsome cat too and it’s really sweet to see them like this.
