What do your cats do every day that make your heart swell?

Little Rosie cat is very clingy and bossy, no boundaries. She follows me around, shouting and miaowing until I finally sit down and she launches herself onto my lap. She stays there ALL evening, purring and snuggling and gazes up at me with her gorgeous green eyes 😁 I have to stay on the sofa until bed time.

Kloppy is very affectionate in the morning. I go for a run first thing then have a coffee sitting on the bed before my shower. He clambers up, plonks himself on me and purrs like a tractor so I can't move. He also likes licking my face if I'm sweaty, it's kind of gross 😹

My cat is having a bit of a distant phase at the moment, so when she deigns to throw me some crumbs of her attention my heart swells. Then she stalks off.

She reverses herself onto my face for cuddles. This happens every morning when I’m half asleep. 😻

Freya who is scared of everything will jump on me when I am lying down in bed and then let me cuddle her.

Just turns up (sometimes, even when I call). I worry so much about the road, but he sk loves being outside.

Teleports into each child's bedroom in the morning to help me wake them up, and disappears for a long sleep as soon as they have left for school.

Absolutely nothing , my cat is feral and attacks me most days 😂

Somehow I’m able to breathe through her fur long enough to dig myself out. 😆

If he wakes up and sees me, he flips over onto his back and reaches a paw out towards me.

I have 3 cats. And this one loves me so much. She's so soft. And she purrs and follows me around. And she squeaks, not miaows. Adorable. 🥰

I love the others too but this one is my baby. Eeep.

When my boy was a little kitten, he was obsessed with rubbing his nose against mine. He’d “stand up” with his front paws on my chest, making biscuits and rub his nose on mine 😍 he’s doesn’t do it as much anymore, but sometimes big, masculine boy just wants to be babied again and comes up for noseys 😍

Little Eve my black cat is firmly independent but she loves to come and give me lots of kisses and headrubs, possibly to persuade me to give her treats.
15 year old Isis is my velcro cat, wherever I am she is. And if I'm not paying her attention she pats my arm with her paw. It's very sweet.

When they both come and sleep on me in bed, purring their silly heads off.

Kloppy squeaks a lot which makes me laugh, he fancies himself as a big ferocious tiger but then does tiny squeaks 😹

The other day, Kitty asked me to stroke her belly for the first time.

I’ve been shown it before but this was the first time she actually wanted it rubbed.

Puts me to bed!!! Squeaks frantically from the doorway of the lounge if we stay up too late. Leads the way up the stairs. Jumps up onto the sink to supervise toothbrushing and skincare, squeaks if I’m too slow! Herds me into bed then snuggles with DH and me in turn until we turn the light out, at which point he hops off into the bed we have hung on the radiator for him and sleeps with us allllll night!

His brother does the reverse! Wakes us all up at first light by shouting his mouth off and parading around the bed until dinner is served! He’s much less confident with human affectionate in general and has a massive preference for DH but on Friday’s I WFH and our cleaner comes- he parks himself on my lap and purrs his head off until she’s gone- it’s like he thinks I’m keeping him safe 🥹- I call them Flynn Fridays! She’s very gentle - except when going for my feet when waking me up! Usually when I touch I get a disappointed / offended look & she moves away. This time she actually purred & wriggled closer.

My least friendly baby has to lie on my arm in the morning. Half an hour minimum and I usually end up with her tiny paw pad marks on my skin as she “parks” herself on my forearm.

our newest addition, a rescue, sometimes panics that we are not here and suddenly starts screaming. When I call her through to reassure her she canters into the room meowing and head rubbing, she’s just so grateful we ar there and we love her. It’s lovely m.

Mine absolutely loves it when I hang the washing out/collect it in - rushes on to the patio and starts showing off, jumping on and off all the walls and the shed, then lies down on her back for a tummy rub. It's the cutest thing ever.

It's lovely drifting off to sleep with a large cat on the pillow next to me purring loudly. Then on weekend mornings I get up to feed her and then we both return to bed together. It's so soothing. She also enjoys falling asleep on my hand, which is adorable though slightly inconvenient.

In hot weather she loved lying in the garden being tickled by a long piece of grass, which she then kills vigorously.

Sits on the kitchen side with fresh dingleberries dangling freely. Makes my heart swell with a suspected pulmonary embolism

Shouts at me at 6am to make sure I’m alive rather than just having a really good sleep.

Once my aliveness has been confirmed there is a certain amount of trying to sit on my head until a compromise is achieved where I am allowed to breathe, not have loud purring directly into my ear or be sneezed on.

I later have to prise a semi-conscious and rather grumpy cat off my shoulder at actual getting up time because she’s very tired, what with having been up for cat duty at 6am.
