What do your cats do every day that make your heart swell?

Little Rosie cat is very clingy and bossy, no boundaries. She follows me around, shouting and miaowing until I finally sit down and she launches herself onto my lap. She stays there ALL evening, purring and snuggling and gazes up at me with her gorgeous green eyes 😁 I have to stay on the sofa until bed time.

Kloppy is very affectionate in the morning. I go for a run first thing then have a coffee sitting on the bed before my shower. He clambers up, plonks himself on me and purrs like a tractor so I can't move. He also likes licking my face if I'm sweaty, it's kind of gross 😹

Cookie the black fluff ball will wait outside till everyone is home. Also likes to keep people company when on the toilet....wispa her "brother" has clingy days. He will sit on my chest and sleep there till he falls off 😂 and last but not least the beautiful bonnie.... killer of the duster 😂😂

Miss Num Nums (Autumn) is the Queen of Aloofness, but always comes for a snuggle around 9pm. She'll sit on my lap until it's time for bed, then we play a game of "I bet you can't catch me" which involves hiding under various tables/chair legs before I can close off some of the rooms overnight to stop her from climbing the curtains and generally scratching anything except a scratching post...

What a beautiful lady. My first childhood cat was a feisty little demon like her 🥰

Ooh well Hermione cat loves to wait for us outside and as soon as we pull up in the drive she’s rushed out and roll on her back for a tummy rub. Sirius is funny as he is such a bad cat most of the time, but is so protective, around 9pm he tries to herd us all to bed and then lurks at the top of the stairs watching the cat flap for any intruders!

Stretches her paws out to me when she wants a cuddle, comes to me when she's scared and wants to feel safe. Sits with me all day when I'm unwell or sad.

He runs to greet me whenever I get home, climbs all over me and eventually snuggles in hugging my knee. Sneezes in my face. 🥰

Yes! She obviously loves the domestic scenarios.

Climbs into my lap, stretches paws up to my neck, kneads just at my collar bone, purrs.

Your Cookie is the spitting image of my Dcat.

Mainly just by them existing, clearly happy and well fed, and as healthy as I can keep them. Both had pretty awful starts in life, so to see them content and comfortable still makes my heart swell.

They can also still take my breath away just by walking into the room together side by side with their tails up, by the sheer grace and beauty of them (in their different ways).

With Girlcat, it's things like the way she gently clasps my hand or arm between her paws when I'm giving her throat/chin/cheek scritches so I don't stop. How she comes to tell me if they are out of kibble by standing up with her feet on my legs. How she throws herself on the floor & writhes with gay abandon at bed time for her belly rubs.

With Tobias it's the way he finally trusts me enough to give him strokes, and even asks sometimes (very rarely). How he looks at me with the cutest little face, head tilted slightly. How much he clearly loves and defers to Girlcat.

I have 4 cats. Nancy, Jess, Alan and Billy. Billy has only been with us a week (he's a one year old rescue).

I seem to be Nancy's chosen one. She sits outside the bathroom when I'm in the bath or shower then insists on sitting on me wrapped in my towel on my bed all warm and cosy. When I arrive home from work she recognises the sound of my car and comes to greet me at the front door. She also rolls on to her back for belly rubs from me, she loves them.

The late Chedfar had no concept of personal space and was loud and opinionated. She was just the most fabulous cat you could ever meet. I felt so lucky to have her. Magic and maia used to make my heart swell when they did something new for the first time, same with Penelope as they all had bad starts and to see them blosdim

We have three.

The ginger menace follows me every time I move around the house demanding head bunts. The younger black boy comes to sit with me in bed in the evenings and demands almost constant head scratches. The older black rescue boy will climb up me and nuzzle into my neck purring like a maniac 🥹

I fostered a kitten called Tessie who had had a truly awful time before being rescued. When she came to me, she spent the first 48 hours wedged behind my bedside table, so I ended up covering the carpet in newspaper & putting her litter tray, food & water bowls near her hiding place.

When she finally ventured out & let me touch her, her ears were so tense that she looked like a bat. But she let me stroke her & then snuggled into me with a purr like a pneumatic drill.

We had a cat who’d jump on the table when my ND son was supposed to be eating and try to push the plate towards him if he wasn’t.

It would also sit on the side of the bath when he was in it and turn the mixer on to add water for him.

That mad cat who’d go for everyone else just knew ❤️

Penelope’s this. It’s adorable. She likes to hold my hand.

I know that feeling. 😂😂

We have two cats and they’re a bit like dogs really, I’d never had cats before so I’m not sure if I’ve accidentally conditioned them! They come when you call them and come running to the door when we get home. They also follow me around and then go to sleep wherever I am in the house or garden.

I feel so loved by them and they’re such great company, I’m never lonely anymore.

Wakes me up at least a couple of hours before I need to be up so I can feed him 🙄 and then comes back, contented and purring, to climb into bed for a cuddle until I have to get up 😍 Absolute softy, loves head bumps and cuddles, belly rubs, being held, follows me around, looks up at me like this when he's on my lap during a work call (and likes to climb on my shoulder when I'm on the loo... my little weirdo! 😆)

One of our cats loves lying on our chests and snuggling into our necks and falls asleep like that which is very cute. She also grooms our dogs like she’s their mama and climbs on top of them to sleep.

Our other cat isn’t very affectionate at all and doesn’t like much fuss, so when he chooses to come to us for a little bit of fuss or sits on one of our knees for even just couple of minutes, that melts my heart.

She answers me when I talk to her with a funny gurgling sound in her throat. I feel like I'm having a proper conversation with her sometimes!
