'Done' cat is a humper...

We got him when he was 8 weeks old and got him 'done' at 6 months as recommended.
He's a house cat (for now) so hasn't been around many other cats as he came from a very small litter.
I'm surprised by how much he humps my arm! It seems to be every day for around 2 weeks a month. His little penis pops out too.

He's the only cat I've ever had who has been humpy. Will he settle down do you think?
He's not aggressive with it and it's not obsessive. We do plan on letting him out when it gets a bit warmer and brighter (he's all black) so he can burn off some of his energy (and hopefully urges?) I just feel really guilty at the moment that he's seeking satisfaction is my arm.

Ps I did buy him a toy the same sort of size in the hopes he would prefer that, but alas, it's my arm he wants!

Start off with biscuits? What
does this mean?

Kneading something (blanket, cushion, someone's lap) with alternating flexing of the front paws/claws - 'making biscuits'.

No, I have been 'spayed' (in other words, I had a bilateral oophorectomy alongside my hysterectomy). Spaying is what a feline oophorectomy is called.

Ah my apologies - I was sort of assuming that you were a male poster who had had a vasectomy! My bad all the way.

No need to apologise - wish it had been as simple as a vasectomy 😄

I have never had this but current female cat often sticks her bottom in the air and her tail is up so I wonder if that’s sexual frustration. She is ‘done’ too.

Both of mine ("done" female and male) do this when they want me to scratch them just forward of the base of the tail, see if she enjoys that? Don't think it's sexual as such, as going nowhere near any sexual organs.

My old boy used to make love to a slipper that I never got a chance to wear because he dragged it off. The “urge to merge” my mother called it.

When I lived at home I seemed to be my parents male ragdolls object of affection

He'd be on the throw on my bed, start kneading it, the kneading would grow ever more enthusiastic (the whole time he'd creepily stare right at me) before he deemed himself "ready" to come up the bed to try and get aboard my arm, sometimes complete with a shriek of excited arousal

There was no question of what he was up to, as if you got him down a certain object would be proudly out on display...

If I was in the bathroom before a shower he'd try it too...

I think he tries it on even now if my mum is sat in her chair under her fleecy throw and he's late teens so he's still a dirty old man 😂

Thank you all. Ah I didn't see the other thread, I'll search for it now.

The thing is, I feel bad stopping him! I wouldn't like to be stopped when I was in the mood, but equally I don't hump people's arms in the middle of gladiators. That's why I bought him a toy so hopefully he'd use that, but sadly not :(!

Here’s that ‘other thread’, in case you haven’t found it: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/the_litter_tray/5260428-cat-gettingermaroused-during-biscuits
