I've got a new kitten - photo attached as tax - and looking for some great toys. We've got balls, a crinkle tunnel, cat nip mice and da bird. I'm looking for maybe one of those 3 tier things with balls in that roll around. And anything else that is recommended.

My two have allllllll the toys in the world but the one thing that consistently played with is little plastic springs.

Yes to the plastic springs! Our boy has loads, but if he can't finds one, he literally howls until someone manages to drag one out from under some furniture and then he's happy again. He carries them around the house in his mouth. No other toys compare. I don't get the attraction, but he loves them so much 😂

Yep mine carry them in their mouths too. There are at least 2 dozen springs somewhere in the house and we have a special 'spring stick' that gets poked under the fridge/ washing machine/sofa /bookcases to hook out lost springs. I have no idea why they are more appealing than balls, little mice etc but they get played with every day and nothing else does (unless it's something treats can be shaken out of but I don't put biscuits in those every day and they only get touched when I do).

MadamCat loved pingpong balls, especially on hard floors. She could catch them, but never keep her grip on them, so they would spring out of her grip instantly. She would chase them and bat them as if they were mice.

MrCat is like Penelope. Playing is beneath his dignity. (Unless it's a leaf outside, or a dandelion seed, or a daddy longlegs. I'm very glad he plays outside!)

Wand toy in action.
This is the more chilled out and less excitable kitten. The other one can’t be photographed with the wand because she is just a blur.

That’s not a Cat, that’s a Bloomin’ Polar Bear! 🐻‍❄️

What are plastic springs?
can’t visualise them? ( Dog owner, and their toys are much more robust) However there are cats in family so would buy springs as they seem so popular?!

Dressing gown belts
Socks
Boxes
Cherries or grapes that have been washed and are sitting quietly in a bowl minding their own business.
Boxes
Morrison's paper carrier bags as long as you don't get your head stuck through the handle and have to run around the house with the bag flapping behind you.
Boxes
Kitten ice hockey (I dropped an ice cube on the kitchen floor)
Boxes
More boxes

Yes to almost all of these but grapes & cherries can be poisonous to cats.

I found that a sheet of greaseproof paper on the carpet with toys or biscuits underneath it gave my two hours of fun. The more it crinkles and makes a noise the better it is. Oh, and an upside down cardboard box with a hole cut into the top so they can get into it.

I'm surprised nobody's suggested yet that the ultimate plaything for a kitten is ...

Another kitten.
