My lovely 17 year old Tortie is making her way to the Rainbow Bridge this morning. It's time. We're going to miss her so much. But her back legs are going and she's tired.

I'm so sorry. Thinking of you both. It's so difficult but it's the last act of love you can show, to let them go and to no longer suffer xx

TheLongRider · 23/12/2024 10:23

You're making the best decision for her. Be kind to yourself and I hope you have many happy memories of her.

Compash · 23/12/2024 10:25

From one loving cat owner to another, I will be thinking of you. I know it's tough but we owe them that care right to the end. 🤗

Catname · 23/12/2024 10:25

I’m very sorry, it is heartbreaking to lose them Flowers

Gilesmummy · 23/12/2024 10:28

Mine is too. In and out of the vets for the last week trying everything…Time to let her go..I can’t believe how much I have sobbed this last week…
We’ve had a lovely few years together

viques · 23/12/2024 10:29

Thinking of you. Torties are such feisty little characters, I have had two in my time. You know in your heart you have made absolutely the right decision for her and it is so unfair that it hurts so much. Sending you my best wishes. Flowers

Flowers@Gilesmummy too, and everyone else facing this tough decision.

Nikitaspearlearring · 23/12/2024 10:30

I'm so sorry, for you and @Gilesmummy. . Sending you strength and I'll be thinking of you both xx

Tortielady · 23/12/2024 10:35

We have a tortie and I agree with a pp - all cats are wonderful, but there's something about a tortie. . .Peace and love to you and your sweet girl.🌻

Logoplanter · 23/12/2024 10:39

It's so hard but it's the best thing to do and you are doing it out of love ❤️

Floralnomad · 23/12/2024 10:40

VenusStarr · 23/12/2024 10:42

Sending love ❤️

myfitbitisfucked · 23/12/2024 10:58

@maddiemookins16mum @Gilesmummy
so sorry you are both facing this. What you are doing is the biggest act of love for them though. It really is. Every time I have been there and will be in the future, I believed and will believe they know this as they go on their way: they know they are loved.

doesn’t make it any less heartbreaking though. Sending love and strength 💔🌈

welcometomynightmare · 23/12/2024 11:01

So sorry for you all.😿

Pepperama · 23/12/2024 11:02

We’ve had to do this last week. So sad but so
important. The last act of love. Holding you in my thoughts

Mistymorin · 23/12/2024 11:04

So sorry 💐

TheSillyGoose · 23/12/2024 11:09

I'm so sorry, a dignified end is this greatest gift you can give them. Will be thinking of you .

TemporaryCatSlave · 23/12/2024 11:40

Thinking of you right now. Just remember all the happy years you had with beloved puss.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 23/12/2024 11:42

It’s so hard but it is an act of love.

NameChanges123 · 23/12/2024 12:22

Awww, so sorry to hear this xx

maddiemookins16mum · 23/12/2024 13:06

Thank you all so much. She's gone now, it was very peaceful, I held her and her wee head just dropped and rested on my neck when it was done. I was able to stay with her for quite a while after too and that has really helped. DP and I are a bit tearful but we also feel a sense of relief (which sounds awful) but we were so stressed and worried about her and she's free now. We were so lucky to have her.

It doesn't sound awful. You loved your beautiful cat and you couldn't bear to see her suffer. Letting her go was the best thing for all of you.xx
