WTAF? He lives next door, on very good terms with neighbours but he seems confused about where home is! I don't feed him but diner him as he was cold. Now fast asleep. I'm a dog person is this a cat thing?

I hope all the replies are very quietly whispered, don’t want to wake him…..

ShouldIEvenBother · 18/12/2024 15:47

I think he would dispute your claim of him being 'confused' OP - surely the word you're looking for is 'comfortable'? 😂

SallyWD · 18/12/2024 15:49

Oh he looks so cosy!

QuickDenimDeer · 18/12/2024 15:49

The cat has adopted you, you don’t get a choice in the matter. Now where is the bowl of tuna at??

AnneKipankitoo · 18/12/2024 15:49

You have been chosen

Renamed · 18/12/2024 15:52

Aaah… don’t feed him though, I expect your neighbours don’t want to lose their cat! Yes it’s a cat thing, one of my mum’s cats was frequently found on a bed next door (fortunately she was friends with their cat!)

Gettingbysomehow · 18/12/2024 15:54

Yes it is a cat thing, my cat often comes in smelling of woodburner with lipstick marks on her head.

Iamacatslave · 18/12/2024 15:54

Looks like you’ve been adopted.

DemonicCaveMaggot · 18/12/2024 15:56

We have a cat from the other side of our housing estate that continually comes into our house. Then he started to bring a friend from up the street. This afternoon I came back from shopping - the cat, his friend, and another random they had picked up on the way all walked into my house. The random was in the kitchen by the time I was in with the bags.

Jingleberryalltheway · 18/12/2024 15:57

Cat chose owns. They like ones who don’t like cats. I think it’s so you don’t bother them too much.

Raindropskeepfallinonmyhead · 18/12/2024 15:58

Aw he has chosen you!

UndeniablyGenX · 18/12/2024 15:58

He loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah!

AnnaMagnani · 18/12/2024 15:59

Don't feed him, he has a home and it'll piss his owners off if they never see him but pay his vet bills.

I've had 2 cats prone to doing this. First would go next door for a look round but quickly be shown the way out.

Second specialised in homes belonging to soppy cat ladies. He'd go in, make himself look cute and then eat their cat food and beat up their cats. And not come home as he wasn't hungry.

After a bit too much of that behavior we placed him under house arrest.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 18/12/2024 16:01

Oh no, definitely not feeding him. He is pissed off as they have two new cats that they got to be friends with him, but he doesn't want to be involved with them and vice versa. I will return him when they get home from work!

This happened to us, after a couple of months he packed his bags and moved in with us

International Cat Day Cats GIF by MOODMAN

can see one day you coming home to a lounge full of cats!

AnnaMagnani · 18/12/2024 16:11

Ah, well his owners only have themselves to blame then.

Cats generally do not appreciate friends. Even my litter mates have eventually hated each other.

harriethoyle · 18/12/2024 16:16

oh I would love it if my neighbours cat did this 🤣

Baneofmyexistence · 18/12/2024 16:16

I have a cat who regularly does this. He has other houses that he goes to and then comes back here for ten minutes to be fed. He’s currently on house arrest after being poorly at the weekend and costing us £900 in vets bills despite never coming in his own home for more 20 minutes a day. I honestly think the neighbours should chip in 😂

Compash · 18/12/2024 16:21

It's his bed now.

This is not at all uncommon behaviour for cats. He is so pissed off that he has decided he no longer wants to live in that house with his former staff and the two new upstarts.

He has decided to move house and finds your home much more to his liking.

The wand chooses the wizard - or in this case the cat has chosen their new slave. And that, my dear Boulevard, is you.

Soz. 😎

😂 Cheeky buzzard! (The cat not you!)

This has never happened to me in nearly 60 years of life, and over 25 years of having cats!

Oreyt · 18/12/2024 16:31

That's taking the mick. He must feel relaxed at yours.

One cat comes in ours but just walks around then goes.

Not sure if my cats go in houses but they probably do.
