The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

When my ex was around I would also not notice any sick. Sadly nowadays I am the cleaner upper of all disgustingness 😔 I have tried to train the beasts to clean up after themselves but to no avail.

You need a dog for that, they'll eat anything 🙊

Although Mrs G. denies it, she does this sometimes too.

Possibly 🤮😹 together?

I think Linney wins the relaxed outdoor cat competition.

Toad sends in his entry for relaxing indoors.

He looks de-boned! And very comfortable in that weird way only cats have! (Occasionally dogs get near to it!)

Yes, do keep a close eye on it, Allergic. And how you feel generally - temperature etc.

Agree @Allergictoironing , have a low threshold for seeking advice/care

Apparently there are but you have to pay for them

As with anything cat-related, eh?

Just catching up.

@Supersimkin2 I'm so sorry about Havelock.

@Allergictoironing the vet attempt sounded traumatic all round. Glad Tobias has forgiven you.

@RumNotRun I also have no man around for cleaning up cat sick. I don't think it would be worth it, mine are hardly ever sick (touch wood) and I just cannot be bothered with men anymore! Just turned 40 this year and I reckon I'm done. I'm off work atm with a broken shoulder and pretty fed up, but Walter and Benny are keeping me company.

RumNotRun · 07/09/2024 15:34

@coastergirl same here only I'm a bit older at 43. I can't imagine fitting another person into my life.

Toad decided he needed under the blanket cuddles. His purring was so loud he nearly drowned out the episode of Law and Order that I was trying to watch.

@coastergirl I'm sorry to hear about your shoulder.

Did one of the cats trip you up

Just turned 40 this year and I reckon I'm done.

Never say never - I was 43, not far off 44, when I married DH 🤷🏼‍♀️ He is absolutely rubbish at cleaning up cat sick though 🙄

coastergirl · 07/09/2024 18:08

@YesItsMeIDontCare I do frequently say never say never, I just think it's unlikely. I'm a single mum, one kid diagnosed ASC, one strongly suspected ADHD, me suspected of both. I'm overweight, have very geeky interests and I work full time so between all of the above have very little free time. I'm not much of a catch 😂 I just can't imagine putting up with another person's habits again either 🙈 I'd have to seriously fall for them!

@TheShellBeach not this time, although it's not for lack of trying. I work at a special school and we were out and one of the kids ran for it, full speed towards a main road. I ran after them and went flying, landed on my shoulder. It's taking a while to find out the extent of the injury as it was initially missed on xray.

Walter and I have just been arguing. The back door is wide open and in sight. He sat at the front door (right behind where I was eating my tea) yowling at full volume to be let out. I was explaining that the back door was just as good 😂 I eventually put my dinner down, got up, picked him up, put him out of the back door and came back inside, closing it behind me. Judging by the look on his face, his tiny brain didn't compute.

ShoutyCatSlave · 07/09/2024 19:06

I'm got back from my holidays late last night (NMHC photo attached) and Agatha is very happy about it. Which is lovely, but not at regular intervals overnight, when she came in to my room to shout in my ear to make sure I was still there. She's still quite velcro-y, now. This will change as soon as I get her to the vet for Bravecto..

A few weeks off 56 here and happily single.
Ouch, Coaster, that sounds very painful.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery 💐

Allergictoironing · 07/09/2024 20:04

Sorry about your shoulder Coaster

I'm in my 60's now, gave up on men about 10 years ago having had one last go at a decent relationship. I have a very good male friend who lives about 120 miles away & I never see in person, close relatives like DBro & the nephews, and Tobias.

Yes it could be useful to have a guy around sometimes especially considering I'm mildly disabled & short (and lazy), but TBH the advantages of being single more than outweigh the disadvantages IMO!

Allergictoironing · 07/09/2024 21:07

I always used to think the Sphynx at Giza had unrealistically long front legs, then I looked at Girlcat this evening...

Oh my gosh she’s amazing Allergic!

So I’m 45. Waited a long time to find DH. Went very much against my culture by not dating everyone I saw from 16 and very much disappointed my DM but decided to wait till I found ‘the right one’. I did just before 26 and after almost 20 years I still think he’s the best thing in the world (obviously after Boone my soul cat - although DH may feel the same way i do about Boone! 😁😁).

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 07/09/2024 21:42

Been married 32 years to Mrs G. We rub along quite happily (even if I do have to deal with 'her' cat sick discoveries every now and then).
I do have a sneaking suspicion that she prefers Basil to me though 😻.

But of course, no mere human can compete with a cat!

Happy Caturday from Louie who had a kitchen disco on the counter earlier. I swear my standards could not get any lower since he came here.

On cat sick, it’s my DP who is blind to it. He also doesn’t tend to hear/smell any litter tray action. He is very good in many other ways though, honest.
