The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

I cooked bacon earlier, left the pan on the side instead of putting it to soak. I heard some clattering so went into the kitchen expecting to see one of the demons licking the pan. Instead I was greeted by this. She now stinks of bacon!

Fried cat for tea tonight?

Rumnotrun That made me laugh! When I was little we had a cat that would steal the bacon from the pan as it was frying if my mum wasn't standing right by the cooker to defend it .....

That made me snort into my tea! The ongoing puzzlement that is a cat!😹

She still smells of bacon. Her fur is all greasy from the bacon fat. It's very weird that the other cats have been nowhere near her. If my dad's dog was here Ghostie would have been licked clean and then licked some more!

I have never seen a cat do anything quite that daft 🤣. Was the pan still warm?
Meanwhile - HC8, who just gave me a typical cat dirty look and didn't come running to say hello.

I think it must have been a little warm still. I could slightly understand it more if it was really cold here but it's been quite sunny and warm so unusual weather to want to warm your bottom up 😁

HC8 has a stare that would sour milk. He is absolutely gorgeous, but I certainly wouldn’t take any liberties by trying to pat him. Subject and setting would make a nice postcard.

I’ve been to that house. An old woman used to scream out of the window at tourists.

A quick line to let you know yesterday Havelock died suddenly of cancer. It was absolutely for the best - very aggressive tumour and only an hour’s discomfort.

On his last day on earth, Haveasnack woke me up by breaking into my house, stole Prince’s breakfast, hid, savoured the replacement breakfast and peed on the neighbour-who-doesn’t-like-cats’ expensive rug.

Shortly after a thieved lunch he had a cardiac arrest in the garden and died with full pain meds in NDN’s arms, looking at her while being cuddled.

Prince is really upset and won’t come in from the garden, where I am sitting with a candle to keep him company. NDN in bits.

Havelock was the naughtiest cat I have ever met. His sense of entitlement was a glory to behold. I adored him. His light does not dim in death, I should be sobbing but keep sniggering every time I think of him. Absolutely the right way to go, he didn’t suffer.

RIP, Sable Caesar.

Lexter is looking neckless tonight (with Toad in the background). Bacon butt is sleeping on top of my work laptop which will be interesting when I go into the office in a couple of days 🤔

Oh Super, so sorry to hear about Havelock , what a shock for you, Prince and NDN.

Very sorry to hear about Havelock Super. At least from your description he lived life to the full until the last minute though. 💐
Hope Prince gets over it soon too and my sympathy goes to your NDN.
