The last thread filled up very quickly, mainly thanks to Gizmo's adventures. He is now a fully-fledged Excellent Cat.

And it's allegedly summertime so Ho for the Hols!

This feed really does make me laugh! 😂

AnneKipankitoo · 15/08/2024 11:42

Nice!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/08/2024 12:08

Note to self: I must not put my pint glass of water down near Sybil.

RumNotRun · 15/08/2024 12:15

More importantly I wouldn't leave a Stanley knife next to her, who knows what mischief she'll get up to with that!

Cailleach1 · 15/08/2024 12:55

I think you’ll find that Sybil is well armed with 20 ready to go (claws) Stanley knives of her own.

That’s before the teeth come into play.

Cailleach1 · 15/08/2024 12:58

I say this as the caretaker of two cats who are very quick to use their natural defences as offences in the event of displeasure.

Defiantlynot41 · 15/08/2024 15:45

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats I learned that lesson a while ago ...

@Judystilldreamsofhorses I don't know how you manage to get to work any day with that amount of cuteness around

Breadcat24 · 15/08/2024 16:01

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Snap. This is why Breadcat has her own pint glass- after I woke up to find her drinking water out of the one on my beside table and thought oh yuck how often have you done that!
I now use a insulated coffee cup with a lid!

HouseofHolbein · 15/08/2024 18:36

Wednesday has broken a tooth 😢 she's still eating dry food and dreamies ok. We have the vets for jabs on bank holiday Monday do I need to bring it forward do you think?

@HouseofHolbein I'd ring them up for advice about that. It's quite a long time till BHL.

OP posts:
HouseofHolbein · 15/08/2024 20:42

Yeah I'll ring them in the morning. I'm not doing out of hours tbh as she seems absolutely fine for now.

LostCats · 15/08/2024 21:31

Yeah. That sounds best. Out of hours so expensive

RumNotRun · 15/08/2024 21:35

Toad is still doing his best gargoyle impression but the dopey little idiot keeps falling asleep then falling off. I'm worried he's going to hurt himself so I have made him a landing pad around the base of the newel post. The things we do for our cats!

Well, really you should be sitting beneath him waiting to catch him when he falls- but good effort!😜

RumNotRun · 15/08/2024 21:49

Well I would, but Vixen insists on me sleeping in my bed so she can sit or lie on me.

Great picture of Toad. He does look very comfy.

Allergictoironing · 16/08/2024 06:36

Mega blep there from Vixen!

TheShellBeach · 16/08/2024 10:14

Last night, I heard the awful sounds of a cat being sick, just as I was falling asleep.

I got up and went through to clear it up, and discovered that Gizmo had managed to throw up in the litter tray. He was standing next to it and being sick into it.

Impressive! In my experience, cats will always throw up in any place which their hapless slaves can barely reach. Not Mr. G.

I nearly took a picture to put on here, then decided against it.

If TC is using the litter tray to vomit into - where is he crapping? 🙀😹

Actually (and don't tell him I said so), I'm very impressed with him using the tray under those circumstances. I never doubted his intelligence!

Very, very intelligent.

Yet another neighbour has popped over to tell us that Gizmo spends time in his house.

Actually, this particular neighbour was doing a miniature jog round the sheltered housing complex, allegedly to "fix his arthritic knee himself" because the NHS are taking too long to offer him surgery.
🤣 🤣

Oh well. At least he wasn't attempting DIY kitchen table surgery............................

But he told us he was "very fond" of Gizmo. That'll be because he hasn't been bitten or growled at yet.

This has reminded me of our family cat when I was a child (a Brown Burmese girl).
She used to come on walks with us and if she needed a pee would always go over a drain. I thought that was really clever.

learieonthewildmoor · 16/08/2024 12:23

I love how popular Gizmo is making himself. 😂

TheShellBeach · 16/08/2024 13:31

Our very elderly, very deaf neighbour has struggled over to our house, because she wants me to phone the Bank of Scotland for her.

She was delighted to tell me that "Bizmo" was currently having a nap on her bed.

That cat is the archetypal Six Dinners Sid, isn't he?
