@RumNotRun they really can sleep anywhere -and anyhow!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 14/07/2024 17:33

That's a brilliant photo of Toad and very pleased that Gizmo and Linney are continuing to build a relationship.
A couple of photos of monochrome cats for your entertainment.

@RumNotRun have you put a cushion underneath in case he falls off?

You have faith that he would actually land on it?

Vixen went through a stage of sleeping on the mantelpiece and I did build a crash mat landing site for her as she sleeps so hard. Toad is always half awake so never stays in one place for long, he will move as soon as he thinks there's a possibility of me going into the kitchen to give him food.

Those are very handsome cats, are they related?

The first picture is Lenny the scruff front and
Karl behind. They are littermates.
Picture two is Basil walking away from Lenny.
Basil and Sybil are littermates but unrelated to Karl and Lenny.

I thought it was two snaps of the same two cats! 🤭
Are they very different in real life: I know you say Lenny is a scruff, but Basil looks quite fluffy and I would have mistaken him for Lenny on my phone screen (desperately making excuses for poor cat identification skills!)

Raven is exhausted after a busy day of sleeping, napping, and snoozing.

Gizmo can definitely jump in through the window.
He's just appeared before my very eyes.

Well done, Mr G!

That's great news! Seems his potential joint problems/arthritis are under control, and you don't need a cat sitter when you go away: win-win!

Of course this just means he got bored of waiting for you to let him in 🤣

Actually, I thought he might have been at the door. I wasn't sure if I'd heard a miaow, but I only heard it once.

And shortly after that he appeared. Probably annoyed because nobody heard him.

I'm going to get DS2 to stay anyway. I think it'll be a good idea, to supervise the food bowls. Gizmo definitely takes Linney's food from him if he can, and Linney lets him.

Oh FFS Sybil you mucky pup. 🤣

Gizmo came in yesterday with a load of sticky willies on his back.

He's obviously going a bit further afield now.

I'm so glad the silly sod has managed to jump in the window.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 15/07/2024 13:26

At least these seeds comb out easily. The sticky willies are a nightmare to remove.
Inevitably ours pick up those too.
As an aside - is 'sticky willies' a Scottish usage? I think I may have picked that up from Mrs G.

Yes, it is. At least, I've never heard any English people saying it.

Breadcat24 · 15/07/2024 13:52

Called goose grass where I grew up. Not sure I could say to someone that my cat has sticky willies in her fur.

they are a beggar to get out - you did well @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

RumNotRun · 15/07/2024 13:52

I always call them sticky willies and I am English. Everyone at school did (Bristol 80s and 90s).

TheShellBeach · 15/07/2024 14:14

Right.

So it's daylight (obviously) and Mr SB and I have just witnessed Gizmo coming in through the window.

It turns out that the stupid idiot is actually jumping up from ground level, not from the much easier (and shorter distance) top step.

It was dark when I saw him appear at the window yesterday, so I didn't see which direction he came from.

Does Gizmo have to make everything so complicated? He nearly didn't make it just now.

I suppose this shows how well the Solensia is working though.

Sticky Willy has gone wild the last few years. My garden has become infested with it and I'm never done with pulling it out Angry

It's even go into the greenhouse Shock (see under the occupied potting table Wink)

............ which means we'll have to catch him, put him in his carrier, and drive him back and forth to the vet's every month.

Ah well. We do it with Linney.

Mind you, Linney doesn't cause difficulties with catching and shoving him in his carrier.

Nor does Linney hiss and growl, and try to bite and scratch the vet and her nurse
😂
