Aww what a heart breaking photo of the poor chap. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

But at least he got his priorities right for awakeness - food.

Supersimkin7 · 25/06/2024 20:25

Poor little boy! Stress of moving. Bless you for speedy action - he’ll love the r n rrrrr chez Shell.

Prince is match ready.

Poor Gizmo.
Anyone else’s cats suffering in the heat?
Mine are flopping about and not eating as much as usual - even Matt.

TheShellBeach · 25/06/2024 21:02

Gizmo managed to scratch the nurse before the vet decided he needed to be admitted and sedated.
🤣

But now he's home he's really chilled out. He's had metacam, morphine, solensia and whatever the sedation was.

Linney was actually quite concerned, and he went and stood beside him.

I've spoken to @TCsDad

Gizmo is expected to make a full recovery.

Oh fantastic it must be all the changes plus the weather. It’s impossible to get mine to drink. They’ve just flopped about for days now. I have those cool mats somewhere I need to find them

AnneKipankitoo · 25/06/2024 21:48

Aw, poor wee lamb.

Iamacatslave · 25/06/2024 21:55

Poor TC. Wishing him a speedy recovery.

Lots of love to TC

Power of the paw for Gizmo 🐾❤️

Please pass on our regards (human and feline) to TC. No cat photos I'm afraid because I'm in Penrith tonight for a works do tomorrow.

Gizmo will have a red flag against his name now. They’ll bring out the welding gloves every time he visits. Our vets relax visibly when they find out it isn’t Cat One in the box.
Somehow I am pleased he hasn’t lost his “take no prisoners” attitude.

Allergictoironing · 26/06/2024 07:12

I had sufficiently warned my vets before taking Tobias in for his first visit that when he fled from his crate the second we opened it, the nurse came in with THOSE gloves to hand. But somehow the incredible vet Cathy managed to gather him from his hiding place under her desk with only a towel! They are all cat whisperers at that vets 😎😍

I was very confused then as I read "wedding gloves".

How is the patient today? Vixen sends healing bleps.

The patient has improved enormously.

He's eating the food recommended and taking his various medicines, crushed into Lickelix.

Mr SB may have been heard to mutter that it's a pity we never got shares in Lickelix.

Anyway, all good so far, and Gizmo has even been out once or twice, no doubt to keep a secret tryst with Suzy.

Good crop this year! Is this variety slug-proof...? 😆

I’ve wondered for years why they never come out😃

Snail slaughter is my weakness, Catsonpoppies.

TheShellBeach · 26/06/2024 17:59

I need advice because I'm panicking a bit.

We're going on holiday in four weeks.

Gizmo hasn't yet worked out how to get back into the house via the window. He jumps out of it, but stands miaowing at the front door when he wants to get back in. This is generally at about 3am.

I'm going to have to ask DS to spend the night here for a week, aren't I? I can't bear the thought of Gizmo miaowing for hours and nobody letting him in.

OP posts:
GargoyleOfBeelzebub · 26/06/2024 19:29

He's had years of meowing at Grumpy's door to get in, he just needs to be reprogrammed. Tell him he's a strong independent pussy cat and stick a bowl of dreamies on the inside windowsill.

Iamacatslave · 26/06/2024 20:09

Good idea for your DS to stay for a week.

Kelly51 · 26/06/2024 23:59

A friend of mine. cant have a cat flap and one of her cats can't jump to window, she had a wee ramp built for him to walk up to the window and taught him to use it.

Kelly51 · 27/06/2024 00:00

This kid of idea

Shady went to the VET today. He was good as gold, vet said his teeth are great, shiny coat and commented on how lovely his eyes are
He weighed in at 6.8kg Blush
Vet "not many cats fill the length of their cat carrier, that's a LOT of cat"

Wow look at Shady! What a big feller. He's gorgeous.
