I have no intention of waking up at 4.30 every night, just to let in a cat.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha.

Glad to see he's feeling more like his usual self.

No, I can see your point.

I didn't even hear him. Mr SB stumbled out of bed and let him in.

I was out for the count, having wasted precious sleeping time, wandering around outside, fruitlessly shaking a bag of Dreamies.

It was good news for Suzy though, because she eventually turned up for her share. I don't know where Gizmo was.

Now you've started the "but we have dreamies when we come back in, we're not coming in unless there's dreamies" loop.

I can't criticise, MILs cat still has a pouch at 3am because I once gave her one then when I got up the loo and now she thinks she gets one every time someone gets up in the night .. and she'll make someone get up if they haven't already, by pretending to wee on the bed.

EachandEveryone · 22/06/2024 17:16

I love an old school solid council house my dream would be one of those mansion council flats by the river thames. Not a hope in hell down here. Ducks makes it sound posh I mean they are living happily in a drain that the council are trying to clean up of course it never happens. We also have a massive dumped cats problem I must be feeding 8 now and my girls hate each and everyone of them. I dont blame them really. You are lucky to have all that fresh air Gizmo really got lucky they will be friends very soon. Are you ok leaving windows open?

EachandEveryone · 22/06/2024 14:47

Gave you got a cat flap? I get mine in at 11 but they all wake me at 4 to go back out. The blooming ducks and geese are extra loud then as well. Would a cat go for a duck if it was in a canal thing?

Remember Giz used to live by the Thames so is very used to ducks (a previous cat of ours had a moorhen once - that's the only time any of them caught waterfowl).
@TheShellBeach - it wasn't unusual for Gizmo to be a dirty stop out...

EachandEveryone · 22/06/2024 17:22

Yes i wonder if all the strays disturb the ducks and thats why they are so noisy in the early hours or worse, people trying to catch them? What do you think? Im not used to countryside noises. Weve started to get foxes as well. Im a nervous wreck, would they all go for each other?

TheShellBeach · 22/06/2024 17:33

Are you ok leaving windows open?

Yes. We don't even lock the door when we go out.
We do lock it at night when we've gone to bed though.

Mumsgirls · 23/06/2024 23:52

So glad he’s settled and with someone who gets the thread and will continue to past his antics

My cats are idiots. Vixen decided she was going to spend all her time in the bathroom. A few days later, Frankie decided to live in there too. Then he started sleeping in the bath. Initially I was concerned as a previous cat used to sit in the bath when he had a UTI flare-up, but Frankie is physically fine. I think he feels all safe and hidden.

This morning I showered so Frank was very angry that I had made his bed wet. As he wouldn't settle anywhere, I put an old blanket in the bath. He loves it! He's not usually a sprawling kind of cat, but he is on this blanket.

I just went up to say hi to him, and got greeted by this ridiculousness.

Cat Three loves snuggling with the other cats. Unfortunately for him, they hate it.
He doesn’t dare mess with Cat Two, so that leaves Cat One. Habitually, Cat Three waits until Cat One is stage 4 asleep and then moves in and gets comfy.
Sometime after that, invariably, Cat One wakes up and disgustedly moves. He loves these small cushions because Cat Three can’t sneak up on him.

You obviously need a Cat 4 to snuggle with 3.

RumNotRun · 24/06/2024 19:28

@learieonthewildmoor Oh poor Cat 3! He should come here and hang out with Toad. Toad likes to be friends with all the cats, whether they want to or not. He loves a good cuddle although I am trying to teach him about boundaries and personal space 😉

TheLongRider · 24/06/2024 19:34

Xena, our most recent foster fail, with Bubbles one of our current foster kittens snuggled up to her. Xena does an excellent job of nannying Bubbles and her brother Sprite. She washes them, chirrups at them, plays with them and generally keeps them occupied.

Oops forgot the photo.

Xena looks very pleased with herself. Lovely photo 😻.

learieonthewildmoor · 25/06/2024 02:16

We would need a bigger house if we got a Cat Four. Or perhaps two houses, because I’m pretty sure Cat Two would sack me as her slave.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 25/06/2024 06:55

I've been enjoying watching the recent coverage of wild cat kittens on the TV news.
Some of the footage looks very Gizmo like.

Just saying 🤣

AnneKipankitoo · 25/06/2024 08:06

Fast worker. How long is gestation ?

TheShellBeach · 25/06/2024 19:40

Poor Gizmo has been at the vet's all day.
He has a bladder infection.

He had to be sedated to be examined, and he's home now, very wobbly on his paws.

Aw the poor chap! I wonder if it's a reaction to the upheaval? I hope he feels better soon.x

TheShellBeach · 25/06/2024 19:55

Doing his best to stay awake long enough to eat
