Biblical names for boy cat.

Struggling to think of a name for my incoming boy. It's currently Teddy, which I don't like.

You're thinking about this all wrong. He shouldn't be having a biblical name, he should have something from Homer, to go with Penelope. To be fair though, Odysseus doesn't sound like a good cat name.

You've had so many cats because you save them from crap existences which probably shortened their natural span, and gave them a lovely rest of their lives (eye drops notwithstanding!). They deserved to know love, and got it. At that they probably did have a longer life with you than they would have otherwise - certainly a happier one. Not-Teddy may have had a better early life, but who knows where he might have gone to next? Because Persians look like cuddly toys I think far too many owners don't realise they're NOT just toys that need feeding.

@Anniegetyourgun, Persians do need special care. And an understanding of their breed, and the problems they can have. I've been really lucky with mine , even I didn't have as long as I'd have liked with them. But Cheddar really was a special girl.

I don't know much about Greek poetry. Although my dad thinks he should've called Percius ?spelling!! I thought of Pius V but it's been vetoed.

Perseus. Guy that killed Medusa the snake-haired Gorgon (and various other adventures). I think he got a loan of winged sandals from Hermes (the god, not the company). Two downsides of the name: 1. if he's more typical of his breed than Penelope he probably won't even jump, let alone fly and 2. he may get called Percy by the uninitiated, or by your sister on the wind-up.

Although... anyone thinking he might look a bit like a Percy?

My vote is Ham, fits the criteria of biblical name and it’s a nice little homage (fromage? ) to the late and great Cheddar!

Ham would be a great homage to Cheddar. 🤣 My sister will not be dissuaded from Sit Theodore Goblin. just as Penelope is referred to as Sea Potato. 🙄 need to get the spare room ready for him tonight. Hoping he'll use the teepee. As I don't want to take it down.

Telemachus (Penelope's son)
Or one of Penelope's 100 suitors:
Eurymachus
Antinous
Amphinomus

Or Odysseus as that was Penelope's husband that she stayed faithful to.
