Daisy was making biscuits on my ear a few hours ago! It’s 1am here, I went to sleep very early and of course now I’m awake again.

My 3 Teddy and Bubs keeping each other warm they're brothers and baby Bailey I found abandoned in a box last July. Love them all to bits 😻😻😻

OMG who abandons a kitten in a box?

The same kind of people who throw their lockdown kitten out onto the street when they realise cat = vet bills.

Fortunately he was found and is now my big tabby boy.

In other news, I staged an Intervention last week when a lovely lady at a Christmas fair mentioned being ready for cats again but looking for older cats. Made referral to our rescue and the two 12 year old lovely boys who were starting to look stuck will be in a new loving home before Christmas.

Thought I’d chime in as I’m cat-sitting for the ex at the moment, or should I say kitten sitting, I’m visiting every weekday for an hour or so to feed and give strokes and tummy tickles. These two are absolutely adorable, two brothers about 15 weeks old now I think, still being kept inside for the time being. George is the Smokey coloured one, Joe almost black but with a very dark tabby pattern. ❤️

@TheShellBeach he was in a very bad way vet didn't think he would make it through the night. But here he is happy and healthy. It happens all to often here in spain. I do have another fluff his name is big white he was a neighbours they moved back to Norway and just left him. Thankfully he walked into my home decided he like it and never left.

Yes he is huge i decided i couldn't keep him hence just calling him big white. He's been here over a year now 😂

Oh @Lonelycrab they are adorable! Velvet has agreed to give up rights to her section of the fan club (we’re all fans of each other’s cats, obviously, so there are multiple specialist branches of the cat fan club) so they can be exclusively worshipped for a week or so.

@scrambledeggsandbeans and in fact everyone else the abandoning cats in boxes is sadly familiar to me too. Velvet was abandoned with her live brother on the steps of Battersea in a terrible condition in a box and Mr N was found with his dead brothers and sisters in a box on the side of the road. When I think of all the feral and stray cats even in this animal loving country it makes me really sad. They get abandoned for loads of reasons including people not just being arsed about them.

Re the tummy scratching think, I think it’s a fairly universal signal throughout the animal kingdom of trust, but cats are the only ones in my experience who will tend to take revenge for believing in your touching honesty. Even Velvet will do a gentle, claws-retracted hug on my hands, and she’s the gentlest cat I’ve ever met. Her brother in Bengalism, Mr N, would receive as many cuddles as he required, stretch out for a tummy rub and then do this bizarre backwards salmon leap to target your face if you took him up on it.

Me too. Obviously it's nice to have new cat slaves here, but life has been SO busy for me the past 4 months. Between work, single parenting my very challenging boys, the cats, and everything else, I hardly ever get on here. When I do there's just so much to see, I get overwhelmed and decide not to read 🤷‍♀️

Shady’s slave posts on Facebook regularly so I catch up with his antics on there. Happy to report their NMC, Paws, is still a regular visitor.

Just got back from one of those Complete Waste Of Time errands - looking for non-slip bedsocks for Mum. Wrong time of year for them here, presumably. 🙄

The kitties have lunched and Daisy was making biscuits in Mum's chair. Or rather, she was till she smelled my tuna sandwich.

@Catsmere I just knew it as kneading rather than making biscuits but it’s very tranquil and calming, rather like reaching out to velvet when we’re having a nap together and hearing a little snurr. Daisy looks very sensible and calming, a stabilising influence (I’m actually sure she isn’t, I’ve met a cat).

V is a bit short on rations and attention as both parents are away so she is only getting three meals a day instead of the five she can sometimes con out of us, and some snacks, and boyfriend came to look after me so she was criminally under-played-with. She’s still not super comfortable with BF because he is very big and intimidating. But never fear, loyal Excellent Catsers, she will be rewarded tomorrow! She’s already used her litter tray for the first time in two days to create an indescribable smell in revenge. I didn’t throw up again but it was a close one.

Hi @coastergirl Thanks for the photos, they are adorable 😍 I too follow Shady and Paws on FB, it's one of the only reasons I go on there any more. Shady certainly seems to have taken over as the dominant cat, poor Stinky Paws 😁

Our most frequent NMC visitor, Picard, arrived today absolutely soaking wet.

Here he is on Linney's favourite chair, drying himself off after having eaten the remains of Linney's breakfast.

What does Linney think of the NMCs @TheShellBeach?

He loves Picard and hisses and growls at Suzy.

Picard looks sooo wet! Still, I'm sure Linney will forgive him for making his chair damp.

I love Paws and Shady. Poor Paws, he really has got too much of an independent streak.

Doris and Cedric are amazing and Lonelycrab is very lucky to be kitten sitting.
