Not cat related but... 15 minutes ago I received a text from some American friends wishing us a happy (frighteningly large numbered) wedding anniversary.
Just a pity that neither Mrs Grumpy nor I had remembered it. We unwittingly celebrated it earlier today by going to IKEA. 🤣🤣🤣.

Why in your pyjamas? I can't bear the thought of the outside world contaminating my lovely fresh line-dried jammies 😱

(yes OK, there's a reasonable amount of cat fur attached but... y'know...)

31st - but close 🤣

I know it's probably frowned upon to bring other threads onto a thread BUT if I don't stop burying my nose in Leroy's fur and sniffing he's going to be wanting a word with Grumpy 😂

It was my dad and step mum's 31st wedding anniversary yesterday too. No trips to IKEA for them although we did go to Waitrose to buy plums so dad could make chutney. He's such a romantic 😂

If I'd stayed married to my first husband I'd have been married for 43 years (gulp).

Fortunately for me (and the children), I left him after a mere ten years, and have been Mr. SB's DW for nearly 25 years now.

I see that Linney's doppelganger has caused quite a bit of chaos in his human slave's life. A bill for £1800 is on the cards.

All been generally quiet chez Allergic recently for a number of reasons. Work is mostly having a lull before the seasonal storm interspersed with the odd minor panic. Combined with the umpteenth set of roadworks on the A228 this year extending my 25-30 minute commute to up to 90 mins, plus the resulting havoc this is playing on my back, I'm knackered which is why I've been very quite lately!

However we do have a bit of an update on Tobias. I have started to be able to stroke him all the time when he'd eating his meals downstairs with no flinching or moving away, and a couple of times he's even arched his back intro my hand. For a cat who was on the streets for quite a while and has only been fully indoors less than 3 months, his coat is awful soft 😃

You have to love a cat who makes you work hard 😻.

That's sort of the point Grumpy - if I didn't love the hard work cats, they may not find anyone else who does love them.

There was a stand off between Martha and another cat which involved hissing from Martha, through the glass. She's all fierce when she's protected, not so much so in ten flesh now she's getting on a bit.

Dora was not impressed with her 'time out' today! Kittens just don't know when enough is enough 🤣❤️🐾

Like almost everyone I've been following the Burglar Cat and Crabsticks thread. I hope Linney has been pointing out that, while he might resemble Burglar Cat, he is much better behaved, TheShellBeach!

Major breakthrough with Linney.

He has never slept on our bed at night while we're in it. Emerald always did until I accidentally knocked her off with my feet while asleep but Linney has always slept in the sitting room.

Anyway, two nights ago, he came and sat on my side of the bed after Mr. SB got in, and jumped off when I got into bed.

And last night, he stayed on the bed when I got in, and let me stroke him. We've always felt that Linney has had difficulty in approaching us, but he's been coming closer and closer.

Well done, Mr. Linney!

Ambrose seems to spend a lot of his precious time on the bin lid, even in the rain today. Not sure what's going on with him.
