....... calling all the excellent cats from the last thread.

Stop chasing shrews, mice and birds and join us here.
Less well-behaved cats especially welcome.

RumNotRun I am VERY engaged with the Joneseses thread! Was last on line about 8:30 last night, so looking forward to catching up on that with tea.

I usually avoid anything relating to "influencers". Nobody, and I mean nobody, tells me what I should or shouldn't be doing in my private life. "Influencers" tell you what brand you should buy, what you should wear, how your house should be decorated (good luck with that if you have a cat addicted to scratching wallpaper). Not only do they seem to promote expensive stuff, that they get for free or are paid to push, but I happen to like the clothing I wear even if it IS 50% Asda, I like the brands I currently buy as at my age I've tried many & settled on the ones I use now. And I detest most of their trendy cookie cutter decor ideas; remember when every room in the house was supposed to be sort of dove grey - how utterly boring and cold.

Oops bit of a rant there!

You should have written that rant on the thread designed for it, Allergic.

But that would mean going ON the thread, my delicate brain couldn't cope with that and my carefully controlled blood pressure would go through the roof just reading it! 😁

Is that the one about the canvas screen?

The thing is, everyone on the thread thinks the same as you do, and there are a lot of very witty replies.

Ah OK. Currently procrastinating regarding going out for the first time since the eye op & sorting out my new-to-me car (the one that I drove home from the dealers & haven't been near since), prior to back to work tomorrow. So that could be another good excuse not to get off my enormous backside a bit longer.

Girlcat is going to be VERY unimpressed tomorrow. She's had me mostly at her back & call for 2 weeks, then I'm back to work for 3 days. I have Mon/Tues off next week, but it's Tobias's MoT on Tuesday morning so DRAMA is expected that day!

TheShellBeach · 26/09/2023 10:32

I've got a new phone!
As soon as it arrived, I knocked over a full cup of tea on the coffee table, and some of it went on Linney, so he ran off in dismay.
It was lukewarm (luckily) but he was very unimpressed.

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 26/09/2023 10:36

Beware - he will of course lick it off and may get a taste for tea. Cue the SB family being unable to drink tea without being either stared at with big sad eyes, or being leapt upon from a great height in the hopes you will spill more.

Papergirl1968 · 26/09/2023 10:44

I thought you were going to say you'd knocked the tea over the new phone. That would have been disastrous. Speaking as one who once dropped her phone (thankfully not new) down the toilet...and failed to notice so flushed it. 🤦 All the rice in the world couldn't fix it.

LostCats · 26/09/2023 13:02

Collected the boys from the Cattery. Dear me. The noise that came out of Eko 😳😳😳
Had to have tea and French chocolate from my stash when I got back to recover

RumNotRun · 26/09/2023 14:29

Toad is fast asleep on the coffee table, looking very...ummm...well, not his usual handsome self 😂

Linney isn't talking to us.
Mr SB held him while I applied wormer to his neck.

And it's taken me twelve hours to set up the new phone.
Hmm

Tbf I probably wouldn't be talking to you either 😁

New phones are fun. I'm always disappointed if I can set one up in less than an hour 🙈

RumNotRun · 26/09/2023 23:28

I've just realised I've been tobacco free for 15 days. No vaping, no smoking, nothing. Yay me!

ImNotWorthy · 27/09/2023 02:08

@RumNotRun On seeing the picture of Toad, my first thought was "he is still breathing, isn't he?"Grin

I did wonder too at first! Then he presumably started chasing something in his sleep as his feet started twitching 😁

TheShellBeach · 27/09/2023 09:23

Wow, Rum, that's an achievement!

Papergirl1968 · 27/09/2023 11:03

Well done, Rum. Keep going. You've got this.

TheShellBeach · 27/09/2023 11:21

Actually, after spending all day yesterday setting up my new phone, I could've done with a fag to calm me down!

But it's coming up to four years now, and the moment passed.

OP posts:
RumNotRun · 27/09/2023 11:35

It's been ok, at times I've had cravings but I just think that if I do have a vape or whatever then the cravings will end up lasting longer. I'm out on Friday with some friends so that'll be the real test as I haven't had alcohol since giving up smoking!

nettie434 · 27/09/2023 14:23

Fantastic achievement, RumNotRun. Well done.
