....... calling all the excellent cats from the last thread.

Stop chasing shrews, mice and birds and join us here.
Less well-behaved cats especially welcome.

Well, Mr. SB took me at my word and chucked all the washing out.
At least he chucked all of MY washing out and snaffled HIS into the bedroom, including his horrible old cardigan.
Grin
I asked for that, didn't I?

Linney 😍

I have a new herb (or spice) in my collection but I have no idea what to do with it.

I arrived on holiday yesterday. I've found a new friend already....

I love the way that Linney on the wall and the bed looks as if he could never get involved as anything as vulgar as a Mexican stand off. It was Picard and Suzy. Linney just happened to be walking past. Sorry about the other frustrations TheShellBeach. I had it ingrained in me by my mum that you must wash everything inside out so even if tissues, escape in the machine, the damage is more limited. I remember virtually getting the ick when an ex put his jeans in my washing machine without emptying the pockets. I was so angry when I heard a terrible clanking and realised he'd not bothered to check for small change in his pockets

Sorry about the various frustrations Allergic but you are doing brilliantly with Tobias.

Much admiration for Jinx, Beatrix and all the other cats enjoyig the bonus sunshine.

TheShellBeach · 10/09/2023 16:18

Yay!

Result!

The very expensive hotel are going to refund me!

Now I just need to chase up that £33.30 which Morrisons owes me, not to mention the £25 the new village curry house owes me.

Watch this space!

@ShoutyCatSlave How lovely to go on holiday and meet a friendly cat.

OP posts:
TheShellBeach · 10/09/2023 16:28

....................and talking of friendly cats, Picard came in today (as usual) for his second breakfast, and when he'd finished, my DD and DS admired and stroked him.

I went over, and said "he's so friendly, isn't he?" and Picard scratched me!

The cheek of it. I have made Picard very welcome at the Shell Beach Cat Cafe at all times of the day and night.

@RumNotRun I have to ask - how did that cat get behind the spices on the rack?

@RumNotRun I have to ask - how did that cat get behind the spices on the rack?

Haven't you realised yet that cats can silently teleport?

TheShellBeach · 10/09/2023 16:32

@RumNotRun I have to ask - how did that cat get behind the spices on the rack?

I have no idea. Only two jars were on the floor but the jars were right to the edge so I can't see her managing to jump and clear them. Maybe she lowered herself from the shelf above? Vixen does have a bit of a thing for sleeping in weird places. Yesterday she thought she was flour.

KMA2023 · 10/09/2023 20:28

Is Vixen blepping amongst the flour @RumNotRun

RumNotRun · 10/09/2023 22:30

@KMA2023 Vixen bleps wherever she is, the oddball 😍

Papergirl1968 · 10/09/2023 23:39

Glad you're getting a refund from the hotel @TheShellBeach
I've just had the Usain Bolt of spiders sprint across the floor. Neither of the cats was in the room. Ddog made a half hearted attempt to catch it by which time it had vanished under the TV.
Useless buggers eat me out of house and home and don't do a thing to earn their keep. The cats and dog, that is, not the spiders!

Papergirl1968 · 10/09/2023 23:44

And dear Linney, how beautiful. Such slanderous gossip has been spread about him, dreadful slurs made against his character, when he was quite clearly an innocent bystander, m'lud.

Allergictoironing · 11/09/2023 13:40

Well that's a turn up for the book! Just got a call from the eye clinic saying they had a cancellation & can I do THIS WEDNESDAY afternoon!. I said yes of course.

Papergirl1968 · 11/09/2023 14:41

That's great, Allergic. It means you won't spend weeks worrying about it too.

TheShellBeach · 11/09/2023 15:59

That's good news, Allergic.
Hope it goes well!

Very serendipitous timing...

a) DSis is on earlies that day, so can take me without booking time off work
b) Currently in a "calm before the storm" phase at work, one of my projects kicks off later October and not only will it be VERY busy but is best done in the office
c) Lovely boss lady will be back in the office (currently isolating due to her DH testing +ive for the latest Covid variant)
c) Rest of the team only have the odd day holiday booked for the next month

Supersimkin2 · 11/09/2023 21:15

Matt will enjoy a midnight snack Paper.

I had one the size of a toddler in the sink. When I saved its life it bit me.

I threw the ladle at it. Ingrate.

RumNotRun · 11/09/2023 21:43

I know it's not cat related but you all are my online friends (whether you like it or not!) so I'm hoping I can use you for a bit of moral support. I have been a smoker for 30yrs and have decided to stop. The trigger was that I messed up my money this month and have been stressing about getting cat food and more tobacco, with the cats obviously taking priority. I just decided enough is enough yesterday, read Allen Carr's book, read a cartoon version of it today, and put my final cigarette out about an hour ago. The remainder of my tobacco and rizla have gone in the kitchen bin.

I know I can do this and the Allen Carr books have helped me with the brain washing side of things, but if you lovely people could post more cat photos and random chat to help keep me distracted I would very much appreciate it. Also, any supportive stories about your success at giving up smoking would be fantastic!

TheShellBeach · 11/09/2023 22:00

@RumNotRun I gave up in 2019 and amazed myself. It was my ten thousandth attempt.

I used nicotine patches (as I had on all the other, failed attempts) and I have no idea what was different this time but I succeeded at last.

To cheer you on your way, here is a picture of Picard (NMC) having a well-deserved rest on Linney's favourite cushion.
