My Maine Coon was allowed to sleep on the bed last night

And he was ecstatic!

Any time I reached out to touch him (to check I wasn’t going to roll on him) he started purring sooo hard. All night. It was so sweet.

I’ve never had a Maine Coon before and he is such a sweet and lovey boy. He is very sociable and likes to be around people. He cries when he can’t get into a room.

Please do share your cuddly cat stories because they WARM MY HEART!

Boycat has taken to coming downstairs at about 10pm to inform me it is suppertime and bedtime.
Girlcat is very timid and never sits on my lap but loves to snuggle against me in bed, purring away. She doesn't like me to turn my back to her though, and climbs across me to get to the other side.

My main coon fluff monster (8 months old). He like to cuddle up under my chin at night, body lying adjacent to mine and puuuuurrrrs.

It feels like you are sitting on a Harley Davidson bike, bless him.

I miss my baby girl. Every night she sent me and dd to bed, any time from 8pm to midnight. She used to get increasingly naughty ending in ankle swipes or nips. As soon as we got to the stairs she would race up, litter tray and straight onto the bed while we brushed our teeth etc. Every single night without fail. I learnt to read mn in bed instead of watching dross on TV. She knew there were awesome cat lovers here 😉

He's so.handsome! I love that inky black fur and the golden eyes.

DH is away this weekend. The cats have taken full advantage. This is how I woke up this morning. My legs are the wall in the middle of them.

I'm 5 ft 0, I have a king size bed, there is therefore a lot of room for my cat on the bed.

She chooses to sleep on me.

Unless my dad visits, then she follows him to bed.

As far as one of my cats is concerned, the closer she snuggles up to me, the better. Which I am fine about until I roll over in the middle of the night, put my hand on the cat and in my still-aslerp state I think dh has grown a fur coat instead.

Cat Three sleeping on my DH.
At first, he would stay on the cat blanket folded up on the foot of the bed.
Then he began stealthily creeping up and laying his head on DH.
He has figured out that I give off a lot of heat and now settles on me. He’s completely confident and stomps up the bed and flops down.

Teeny girl cat loves to sleep pressed up to me. I love it and sleep so much better with her there.

Massive boy cat (8 kg - think he's got some Maine Coon in him) very much enjoys lying across the bed making us contort ourselves around him. It is very comforting to feel his weight there and hear his deep purring. Makes the agonising back pain from the contorting almost worthwhile

Mine smacks me in the face with her paw when I’m in bed trying to snooze. I’ve tried to condition it out of her by gently blowing in her face when she does it, which initially just produced a lot of whinging and grumbling, but sadly because she’s not stupid she now stands at the top of the bed, behind my pillow, then leans over and hits me from behind.

we rescued my big ginger boy about 18 months ago from RSPCA- he was a snap decision when I was fed up of lockdown.

it was love at first sight. He jumped out of his box, onto the hob(!) marched round the kitchen worktop and then follower us up to the bedroom where he conked out on the bed where we sat gazing at him and wondering if he’d ever slept on a bed before….

well, he certainly knows how to sleep in a bed now… he jumps up, demands the duvet is pulled back for him and has perfected the “little spoon” position around my DH!

Dd (12) was at a sleepover last night. One of our cats was outraged and kept coming to wake me up and stare at her bedroom door. 😂

Our other cat is the definition of nice but dim. He flops over for tummy rubs whenever you make eye contact, even if he's balancing on something at the time and he just falls off 😆

Your boy could be the twin of my girl.

I read recently that cats sleep together in the wild for protection, so when they come to sleep on your bed at night they think they are protecting you.

My boy is VERY protective. He curls up behind my knees every night, then when my alarm goes off in the morning he comes up to my pillow and tries to persuade me to stay in bed. He’s a right lazy bones.

Aww loving this thread! I'd love a cat, but am allergic to some and there seems to be no pattern to which ones so I couldn't even avoid a breed! Luckily I'm fine with my neighbours gang, so I go round there for a fuss instead!

I woke up to this face this morning 😍

He was originally rescued from a local cattery in 2017 by an ex colleague but after 3 days she decided he didn't fit in with her lifestyle 😡

She was going to take him back to the cattery but I said we'd have him as he'd already tasted 'freedom' and it wouldn't be fair to take him back.

When we took him to the vet for microchip scanning to change his owner details to ours we discovered he has FIV and they wanted to put him to sleep 🥺

We said whilst he's still purring he deserves a chance...

5 years on, he's had thousands of pounds spent on him(no insurance available due to his illness), all his teeth out due to his poor immune system and has antibiotics twice a year but he's still purring so we keep going...love him ❤️❤️❤️

I sometimes wish there was a like button on MN...so many cuties 😻

We have adopted a stray a couple of years ago (or rather, he adopted us). DH DOES NOT like the cat. DH WILL NOT tolerate the cat in the lounge.

DH is currently sharing the loveseat with the cat. Moreover, he's tucked a blanket around the cat, because he came running in from the rain and "had cold paws".

I'd take a photo but DH would kill me 😄
