New kitten wrapping0 himself round our neck (cute pics)!

We have a new 9 week old kitten (pics below). He was feral and two weeks later he's now the sweetest boy and I'm besotted with him.

He's the perfect lap cat but he just wants to sleep on my shoulder or around my neck! I love the snuggles but I can't hear the TV from his purrs! 😂 Why do they like this and is it normal?

Some cats like height. My Burm does this and it’s lovely but he’s like a panther and weighs a tonne! Weirdly he started doing it as an adult.

Purring is better than TV!

You have a living scarf , I am so jealous! My cat is quite antisocial the most affectionate thing he does is occasionally lie next yo me and put his paw on me.
Thus happens about once a week gor about 30 seconds then he leaps up and is off like he has been stung

My cat belle spent much of her life on my shoulder or round my neck, I was so used to it, I hardly noticed. There were some interesting moments when I opened the door to deliveries etc though.

you should train him to have his claws tipped every week if he is going to live there, though. Just take the very tip off with nail clippers . I clipped both my girls‘ every Thursday ( Friday we had two hours in the car,,so sharp digs not appreciated ) while they lay on my lap. We started early when they were twelve weeks, so they were totally used to it. They would stretch out their paws, when they saw the clippers!

We've only had one of our cats from a kitten but she used to snuggle right under our chins (as in multiple people's chins rather than multiple chins although that may also have been the case) I think she just liked the closeness as was missing mum cat. Now they all just sit on us wherever they feel might be the best spot for stealing food or getting strokes.
