My poor baby girl - Pyothorax

Just want to out this here for people who will get it.

My poor baby girl Rosie has been in hospital since Sunday evening with a diagnosis of Pyothorax.

She's now had drain tubes placed in her chest cavity to try and drain the fluids out.

She's stable apparently - but we don't know when she is coming home - I just hope she is.

Went to visit yesterday - my poor poor little love.

Please keep your fingers crossed for her.

She's Rosie, 4 years old

Aww she is just beautiful! My friend had a blue-cream, many years ago, and I fell in love with her. Such amazing soft, dense fur.

I hadn't heard of pyothorax before, but it certainly sounds like lovely Rosie is in the right place. Sending you both lots of love and good wishes.

Oh she is beautiful! Wishing Rosie a speedy recovery, she knows you haven’t abandoned her the vets will be taking such good care of her and your visits will make her feel safe and secure, she knows you will be back. Hope she is home very soon.

My cat had this he had septic pyothorax , He is now chasing a toy around the living room . It's a scary time xxx

by septic to you mean your poor boy had gone into septic shock? also did you ever find a cause? Its unclear what has happened with our cat - no obvious cause

No we were told septic means infection
We never found a cause , we think possibly a cat bite but unsure ....
Not sure where you are in the country but if your down south I have a fab vet who specializes in emergency critical care if you feel you need a specialist
He's now made a full recovery after costing 7k.... hahah

Looking a lot more chipper today - can't come home yet though
